It’s that time of year again. Dog obedience season!!! I am going to be offering spring dog obedience classes in Alta and in Albert City. Alta classes will be held at Country Comfort dog kennels just north of Alta and the Albert City classes will be held north of the school on the pavement. The Albert City classes will be on Monday nights and will start on April 13th at 6:00. The Alta classes will be held on Thursday nights and will be at 6:00 and possibly at 7:00 as well and will start on April 23rd. These classes will run for 6 weeks. The cost will be $75 for all 6 classes.

Basics of dog obedience will be taught including heeling, sitting, down, stay, and come. Other topics of dog behavior could be addressed if they come up such as jumping, barking, etc. Classes will last from 30-45 minutes depending on the lesson being taught and how many dogs are in the class. Registrations are on the posts below this one. PLEASE look for the city you are wanting to sign up for. Alta is BLUE and Albert City is PINK

Dogs MUST have all their vaccinations to attend (meaning dogs must be old enough to get those vaccinations which is usually 3-4 months old). Dogs must also be on a leash and NOT a flexi or retractable leash. A chain leash is also not recommended. A choke chain is recommended for some dogs but NOT required. Also please NO harnesses as those are not recommended for training Please bring a few very small treats to help with training. The use of these will be discussed.

Any other questions, please reach out to me and I will do my best to answer them.

Fall dog obedience classes coming soon!! I will be offering dog obedience classes on Wednesdays for 6 weeks starting Wednesday August 27th. These classes will be held just north of Alta at Country Comfort dog kennels starting at 6:00 for 30-45 minutes. Total cost will be $75. Dogs MUST have all required shots including rabies and parvo to attend. I welcome working with kids as long as they can handle the dogs.

We will cover basic obedience commands such as heeling (walking on a leash beside you), sit, stay, down, and come. Other topics such as jumping, barking and other behaviors might be covered as well. A choke chain is recommended but not required. A leash which is NOT a flexi or retractable is required. Please NO harnesses as they do not work well for training.

I sent this to everyone signed up for the Alta class I thought but figure better safe than sorry. We will for sure be at the fairgrounds tonight due to the rain.

Hello all!! This is Melissa Fahr who is teaching the dog obedience class that starts THIS Thursday, April 24th at 6:00. I wanted to touch base with everyone to make sure you know where to go for the classes. Especially since they are calling for rain. Sigh. If it is raining at the time of class we will meet at the BV County Fairgrounds just east of Alta. Where the racetrack is located. Most likely we will meet in the sheep barn the open building on the east end and towards the south end of the fairgrounds. If it is NOT raining at time of class and for future classes we will meet at Country Comfort Dog Boarding which is located at the address that I will post below. A reminder that you need a collar, not a harness, and a leash, not a flexi/retractable leash. A choke chain is recommended for some dogs but not required. Any questions please let me know and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can. I have 4-H dog obedience tonight.

Hi everyone. I haven’t made a post for a really long time but dog obedience season is coming soon. Well maybe. lol. I made this post on my personal page and thought I would include it here in case anyone was interested and wasn’t a “friend”.

Okay dog peeps I am going to be doing an order for new collars and leashes for my “kids” soon. Their “good” collars are starting to look nasty and Milo’s leash for sure is an embarrassment every time I take him anywhere that isn’t dog obedience practice. 🤦‍♀️🙄. I’m OCD when it comes to my dogs leashes and collars and they need to match. And they NEED to be from White Pine Outfitters as they are just the best. Kinda spendy but well worth it. If anyone is interested in ordering anything and combining shipping just let me know. I am ordering anyway.

I am listing what I use for my dogs but they have multiple other things as well. Just about anything you might want. I use the combo collar now, first shown, as it’s much easier to put on and off but I’ve used the martingale type as well for years. The leash I’ve listed is what I use but they also have shorter ones as well. There will be tax included but I can pick up the shipping unless you want to throw in an extra buck to help out with it.

Any questions again just let me know. I SWEAR by these leashes. They are strong but don’t cut into your hands no matter how much your dog pulls or weighs. I have a few on hand if you want to see what they look like. Just not the colors I want. lol.

I am getting very close to committing to breeding my youngest Haisley Mae this winter/spring. She has all her health certifications done as of this summer. Haisley is a certified therapy dog and I would like to raise her puppies with an eye to potentially working towards that as well.

Information can be given on her pedigree as well as the probable stud’s as well. They would both be considered English Cream Golden Retrievers as they are very light and have European linage but as you can see Haisley does have more of a honey coloring. I did have a litter of puppies with Liberty, my oldest Golden, and have those owners who would give recommendations if wanted.

I would expect the puppies would be ready late winter early spring depending. I am really looking for those that might be interested in puppies at this time to gauge interest. First choice female is more than probably already reserved but that is it. Please let me know if interested in more information. Also please share with those you think might be interested.

Hello all!! I have been asked about a Fall class for dog obedience. I will be starting a class soon. Class will be held at Country Comfort dog kennels just north of Alta. They will start on Wednesday August 28th at 6:00. These classes will run for 6 weeks. The cost will be $60 for all 6 classes. Depending on the number of dogs that register we might end up splitting the class into two one at 6 and one at 7. Just a heads up.

Basics of dog obedience will be taught including heeling, sitting, down, stay, and come. Other topics of dog behavior could be addressed if they come up such as jumping, barking, etc. Classes will last from 30-45 minutes depending on the lesson being taught and how many dogs are in the class. Registration is on the post below this one. PLEASE make sure you are signing up on the orange FALL class post.

Harnesses are NOT recommended. If you choose not to use a choke chain please bring a regular flat collar to use for training. Please bring a few very small treats to help with training. The use of these will be discussed.

Any other questions, please reach out to me and I will do my best to answer them.
