Hunter backed out after the shot, there was just not a lot of blood. Did not want to risk pushing the deer. We came in 15 hours after the shot. There was very little blood, hair at the hit site was good. We recovered the Big 8 about 300 yards from the shot in his first bed. In a direction up hill that we would have never assumed he would have traveled. Them big boys are tough.
Congrats on an amazing deer!

Hey Mom -

Tracking is hardwork…but the only thing you do is hold the leash and try to keep up. You sure do look funny crawling through the briars, I go right under them! I need more treats.

Gunther von Gramlich❤️he works so hard for his hunters and handler.

This little spitfire ran a good track today. Hunter did everything right after the shot for a dog to come in. Gunther was able to locate the line, found first blood and a part of the arrow. Let it be known Gunther hates fence lines as much as hunters! Gunther did not want to get out of the truck when we got home …his job was not done. Hopeful that this hunter can gain permission and track on!

Hunter did eveything right for best odds of recovery. Backed out after the shot and got ahold of us. We waited and went back at the 12 hour mark. Gunther was all go! Beautiful deer! Congrats!

Gunther says this hot weather needs to leave so the deer start moving better. Then Mom will put on his tracking harness, and he can stop wearing this ridiculous costume!
