Black Country dressage saddle Vinici monoflap - 17.5" Wide tree - Havana leather - in lovely pre-loved condition!!!

Saddle specs:

17.5" seat - please see photo of seat measurement. This is a deep, very comfortable and secure seat

Flaps measure a hair over 16 1/4 " from top of the stirrup bar straight down - please see photo

Gorgeous Mix of Havana leathers - the flaps and knee pads are in smooth leather and the seat leather is tacky with a texture to it - please see the close up photos.

Monoflap - this saddle gives a lovely, soft and "around the horse, rather than on the horse," feel to the rider.

Wide width tree - this saddle was a custom order and is built on the classic dressage tree (same tree as is in the Eloquence) and suits horses that have a not completely flat back profile from front to back. It is a template fit that measures out at a wide width (please see photos of the gullet and tree measurements) with a nice width spinal channel the whole length of the tree - please see photo. This saddle would suit a variety of sports horses and all types of Thoroughbreds providing the wither isn't too tall as well as warmbloods (thicker warmbloods with a wither as well depending on their width). This saddle is also ideal for sporty types of Frisians, PRE, Lusitanos and cross-breed horses depending on their width.

The absence of an outer flap helps to achieve the feeling of a narrower twist, especially beneficial on wider fit horses. The medium deep seat and knee roll configuration offer nonrestrictive security and support for the correct posture. The flexible overlay girthing system lies neatly between the cushioned sweat flap, so as to avoid any discomfort. Panels are designed to distribute weight evenly over a wide surface."

100% wool flocking throughout which means that this saddle, unlike those with foam panels, can be custom fitted to your horse and the tree can be widened up to a Wide width or narrowed down to a Med (1 to 2 cm each direction) by a qualified saddler if needed. This saddle has a small front gusset which can be minimally flocked to provide even more width if needed. This saddle features wool Serge panels which gives it a very secure fit on the horse as the wool has natural anti-slip properties. The panels also offer superior moisture-wicking properties and are “softer” on the horse’s back than leather. Serge panels are a great choice for “cinchy” and “cold-backed” horses. In combination with the monoflap, this saddle gives a lovely, soft and "around the horse, rather than on the horse," feel to the rider. This saddle is uniformly (not flocked to a particular horse).

Standard height thigh/knee blocks

This saddle is slightly older, but has been lovingly used and been very well taken care of. If we are being picky, this saddle does show some wear to the bottom of serge lining on the underside of the flaps at the bottom. There is fraying and rubbing to the serge. The serge lining is still firmly attached to the leather flaps - this is cosmetic wear and not visible except upon inspection with the saddle flipped over. The saddle also has some surface crackling to the leather that covers the thigh blocks - this is surface crackling that does not go through the leather.
There is also slight discoloration to the serge at the font of the panels just below the front gussets. The girth straps are in great condition - please see photos.

The aforementioned are purely cosmetic in nature and do not take away from the saddle in anyway! ***If you would like to see additional photos of any of the aforementioned "faults" - just ask!

This saddle is built on Black Country’s “close contact tree” and features a seat that not only puts the rider in an instant position of optimal balance, but that is very comfortable and secure as well. This is a serious competition saddle, designed to suit both show jumpers and eventers alike.

Gorgeous rich brown leather throughout with suede for extra grip on the seat. The suede is in gorgeous condition – full nap throughout – please see close up photos!!!!

Monoflaps measure 13 3/4 " from top of the stirrup bar straight down - please see photo. The monoflap allows the rider to really “sit around” the horse and provides the leg with additional grip and closeness to the horse. This tree and flap combination really allows the rider to feel the horse working under the saddle.

Small triangular thigh and calf blocks as standard on the Vinici jump model – the leather on both the knee and calf blocks is in excellent condition – no thinning or rubbing

Med/Wide - Width tree (stamped "T" for template) this saddle was a custom order and is built on the close contact jump tree and suits horses that have a typical warmblood sport horse build. Wide + width (stamped "T" for template) -please see photo of tree measurement - on Black Country's "Danny 2" tree which is their older version of the "native" tree. This saddle has much less curve to the tree than a "native" tree and it fits like a classic tree (slight curve to the tree front to back) with the open headplate of the "X" Hoop / Freedom tree and the large spinal channel width - please see photo. This saddle is perfect for horses that need the open "reverse 'U'" shaped headplate and wide gullet of "X" Freedom / hoop tree, but that are not completely flat backed front to back and who would go happily with the slight curve of the classic tree. This saddle suits thick horses with wide withers of a variety of breeds- would be ideal for Warmbloods, Frisians, PRE, Lusitanos, Drafts and Cobs, Natives and Quarter horses depending on their width and who are not completely flat backed wither to tail. This saddle would also work well on wider horses that have a difference in their wither and back heights. *** Please see the tree measurement photos and don't hesitate to ask for further measurements, photos, etc, if you are in doubt of suitability for your horse!

100% wool flocking throughout which means that this saddle, unlike those with foam panels, can be custom fitted to your horse and the tree can be narrowed by a size (up to 2 cm) by a qualified saddler if needed. This tree gives a lovely, soft and "around the horse, rather than on the horse," feel to the rider. This saddle was recently reflocked to a uniform fit (not flocked to a particular horse) and only used a handful of times since - the flocking is in super condition!

This saddle has a small full front gusset that can be minimally flocked to provide even more width if needed and a larger weight distributing panel that is called the "K panel" which produces a larger contact surface on the horse's back that is especially appreciated by “cinchy” and “cold-backed” horses. The panel can be flocked very full to provide a bit more lift on either side of the spine in the area under the stirrup bar, yet when modestly flocked, does not alter the fit of the saddle. The small full front gussets are particularly useful on horses where the saddle tends to slide forwards and/or that are pear-shaped with well sprung rib-cages. Also very beneficial on horse that are not symmetrical.

Standard height thigh/knee blocks for the Vinici

This saddle has had extremely limited use and is overall in Demo condition (with a few imperfections)!!! The girth billets have a bit of light crackling around a couple holes - please see the close up photo of the billets. If we are being picky, there is light wear on the doubled leather at the bottom of the flaps and surface rubbing/marking on the larger back billets. This saddle has decorative white stitching on the girth billets and the back edge of stitching has been worn away by the rider's boots - again this is decorative stitching and not structural! There are also some marks on the very bottom edges of the billets and one has been restitched - please see the close up photos. There is one tiny smooth dot to the leather on the seat - please see the close-up photo. Please see the close-up photos of these areas. The aforementioned are purely cosmetic in nature and do not take away from the saddle in anyway!!

Two girth straps are in place with this saddle featuring the self-adjusting girth system that has an additional web point ( v-sliding back billet) to the tree achieving stability and balance whilst the swing allows the billet to find the most natural girthing line.

*AS NEW * This saddle has been girthed up and sat on once! The only way to identify that it has ever left the factory and been near a horse is by the faintest of faint surface impressions on the billets and a small surface mark on one flap.
