We got out to enjoy some winter sunshine with Boscoe and Mimosa! These two rescues from the Cleveland APL are a bonded pair who are inseparable, even on walks. Here at Mongo Mutts & Friends 🐾💚 We love all large breed/small breed combinations and we value the relationship between you and your pets as well as the relationship they have built with each other and we will continue to strengthen these bonds in your absence.

What walks provide that backyards won’t:

🐾💚 Dogs thrive on variety - Most dogs enjoy seeing different things, smelling new smells, feeling new dirt under their feet and hearing unfamiliar sounds. Relying solely on the backyard for your dog’s exercise can eventually lead to behavior problems.

🐾💚 If solely kept in enclosed spaces, dogs can become sheltered - It is not uncommon for dogs kept in yards to become bored and frustrated, which can lead to destructive behaviors such as excessive barking, fence rushing, and escape attempts. Balancing the backyard with walking is essential to make sure your pup gets the exercise and bonding time they need.

🐾💚Physical Health Benefits - Walking provides enrichment, socialization and training that a backyard may not. Dogs are, by nature, curious explorers, therefore going on a walk or hike is a great way to let them explore.

🐾💚 How often should you walk your dog? Expert veterinarians recommend at least one 15 to 20 minute walk each day, more if your dog doesn’t have a backyard to be let out.

Lucy got allllll the belly rubs and love today with her bath! As a senior dog she requires a little extra TLC and that is exactly why we are here! We understand it is hard for Lucy to get up and stand sometimes so we meet her needs and bring her into our walk-in shower. We are an animal care service that will happily assist you in all needs with your furry friends. Elizabeth has a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. Growing up with French Bulldogs and cats, working in kennels, monitoring daycare facilities and caring for her own furry friends at home, Elizabeth has a lifetime of experience treating and handling her own animals as well as caring for numerous animals in facilities around the Ohio area. Currently located in the Akron are, we are available to walk, bathe, hangout and play, and spend overnight with your pets throughout Akron and Cleveland! We give every client a personal experience and will get to know your pet like our own 🐾💚 We love all cats dogs from 3 pounds to 200 pounds and will take on any breed! The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is right in our backyard and we are happy to take your dogs on road hikes or on the trails. We can bathe your dog afterwards and are available throughout the year regardless of the weather. Rain or shine we’ll take your pups to smell the pine 🌲 We do whatever we can to make your experience as comfortable and easy as possible.
