PRAYERS NEEDED for CORA, the Therapy Dog!!!--- Hi, Facebook friends! I haven't updated everyone on CORA, the Therapy Dog lately, because things have just been plugging along, basically status quo. However, Cora could really use some extra prayer, positive vibes, good juju, or whatever you can spare this morning. This afternoon (Friday), Cora will be having surgery at MedVet Akron, to remove some lymph node tissue that has not responded well to her chemotherapy. Although the procedure is straightforward, the location of the lymph nodes makes the possibilities of complications MUCH higher, and therefore more risky. However, there really isn't much choice. Without it, her cancer will spread and the long-term prognosis sucks! So, Dr. Callard (who is amazing, by the way) will be operating on her early this afternoon. Everyone always asks about Cora and how she is doing, so I figured I would ask for any prayers or good thoughts you can spare today! I will keep everyone posted on the outcome!!! ~Chip

Okay, this is not the best picture of me, because I was super excited and had ants in my pants, but that's not the point of this post!!! So last Monday, I had my LAST CHEMOTHERAPY Infusion at MedVet Cleveland. I still have to take some medicine for a while, and go back for more scans and check-up's, but everyone says I am on the right track! I wanted everyone to meet the people helping me beat cancer... This is my Oncologist, Dr. Prudic, and the Oncology Nurse, Brittany. They are the BEST!!! If mom and dad weren't around, I would totally go live with them! Dad says they probably don't live together, but I only ever see them at MedVet Cleveland, and they are always together, so I am pretty sure they live there!

Oh, yeah!!! CORA, the Therapy Dog is officially KICKING CANCER'S A$$!!! Haven't posted too much in quite a while. I have seen a lifetime's worth of medical challenges these past two years, but don't worry, I am ON MY WAY BACK!!! I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me by commenting to my Dad's feed, or who stopped by Alpha-Dog Pet Center to say hello and wish me well! I truly love you all!

BEST. MORNING. EVER!!! Nothing like starting our day by convincing Dad to take my sister (BELLA, the Therapy Dog) and me to Starbucks, to get a Puppuccino! Just the "pick-me-up" I needed to start my day! Now, off to Alpha-Dog Pet Center for a long day of being me, and making people happy!

Big Alpha-Dog Pet Center THANK YOU to Mrs. Sexton and her 6th graders at Amherst Junior High School, for inviting us into their classroom today. My Dad and I got to talk to several classes about advertising, as part of The Chronicle-Telegram's "Design-an-Ad" program. We can't wait to see how our ads turn out! While we were there, we also talked about dog training and Therapy Dogs, for which I--- CORA, the Therapy Dog--- just-so-happen-to-be a subject-matter-expert! Thanks again for inviting us in today!

Had fun yesterday, practicing my Dock Diving and swimming at Canine Superheroes, in North Ridgeville. Big THANKS to Uncle Eric & Aunt Christine, for helping and for having me out! If your dog likes the water, you should definitely check out Canine Superheroes!!!

All about CORA, the Therapy Dog!

Cora is an American Pitbull Terrier. Also called a Pitbull, Pittie, Pibble, Bully, or numerous other nicknames! This not-so-vicious beast was rescued from the Friendship APL in Elyria, Ohio, at the age of 1 year old, in November 2016. Her now “forever owner”, Chip Ingersoll, is a professional dog trainer and behaviorist, and is the owner of Alpha-Dog Pet Center, located in Amherst, Ohio.

Cora became a certified Therapy Dog in 2017, and loves spending time at hospitals, nursing homes, schools and libraries. Cora absolutely ADORES kids, and really loves doing work in the “R.E.A.D.” (Reading Education Assistance Dog) program, as part of her Therapy Dog work.

While Cora absolutely LOVES her volunteer Therapy Dog work, where she truly THRIVES is at her full-time career, as the “Chief of Barketing” for Alpha-Dog Pet Center. She is the public face of the organization, and is a regular fixture on the company’s social media pages, as well as being easily recognizable at public events around Amherst and surrounding communities. She regularly attends Main Street Amherst meetings, as the representative of Alpha-Dog Pet Center to that organization. (Chip goes along, too, but introduces himself as Cora’s driver!) She absolutely loves her customers that come in to Alpha-Dog Pet Center, sometimes just to hang out and chat with Cora for a bit!

One of Cora’s biggest joys in life is the fact that she is blessed to be able to advocate for Pitbulls (and other “bully breeds”), in hopes to break stereotypes about her breed. Cora is currently single, but has many “crushes”--- both human and canine!
