Today, my heart is heavy as I reflect on the beautiful life of my beloved horse Cheyenne.
She was my first quarter horse, my lead mare, and a corner storm of everything I’ve accomplished here at Rebel’s Run.
Without her, I could not have started my lesson program, lead countless trail rides to the vineyard or hosted my summer camps that taught so many kids how to ride.
Cheyenne was not just a horse.
She was a teacher and a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cheyenne was truly a remarkable mare.
Her beauty was matched only by the size of her heart.
With every soft nicker greeting, she made everyone feel special.
She taught children not just to ride, but to believe in themselves and to form a bond of trust with an animal that gave them courage and joy.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to her “co-mother”, Cindy Thompson, who initially brought Cheyenne into her life with the intention of Cheyenne, helping to her to mow her grass.
Who would’ve thought Cheyenne would stay on to become a cherished companion to Curran, Cindy‘s beautiful gelding and later enjoy her senior years basking in love and grazing in the sunshine.
Thank you Cindy for giving Cheyenne such a wonderful life filled with love, kindness, and companionship.
Your care made all the difference.
I also know that John, Cindy‘s husband, loved Cheyenne dearly.
His affection and appreciation for her were always evident, reminding us of the unique bond between humans and horses.
As I say farewell to my beautiful Cheyenne, I hold onto the countless memories we created together, and the live we touched.
You were more than a horse; you were a family member, a mentor and a friend.
Your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of everyone you inspired and loved.
Thank you Cheyenne for the joy and lessons you brought into my life.
I have nothing but immense gratitude for all you gave and did for me, and I truly feel blessed to have had you in my life and leading my herd.
You will always be my Lead Mare.
You set the bar.
I’m sorry at the end, it was your body that gave out on your huge heart.
You will be missed beyond words but never forgotten.
Run Free Cheyenne❤️❤️❤️
