THE LIBRARIAN
HI, My name is Diamond, and this is my story.......
A long time ago as a kitten with siblings we were brought into a shelter house where we were taken care of by the lady who lived there. Doctor visits were done to make sure we were healthy. During the course of time we soon learned to hide whenever we heard loud voices with things crashing. The lady got very very sick and soon was unable to care for all of us. The place soon turned into a very smelly nasty dump. Deodorizers were used to try to get rid of the smell.....Some of the other resident kitties got very sick while others sick unto death from the aerosols. One thing led to another, but one day a nice neighbor came by to help the lady take care of things ......but she was run off by the lady's husband. About a month or so later the nice neighbor reached out to the the lady to see if it was safe to come help her. She did as the lady stated her husband was going in for cancer surgery. The day after he came home from surgery, Thursday, the neighbor came back to help the lady by cleaning her kitchen, taking care of the kitties, and tending to the sick lady as her husband was recovering from his surgery in his RV. The next day, Friday, the neighbor came back to clean but was met by the husband with whom she had a chat...He was very sorry he had gotten angry and ran her off...apologizing profusely asking her to please check on his wife as she hadn't moved for awhile....( there were cameras everywhere in the house)..Unfortunately, the lady had passed the night before sending everything into a tail spin. Of course the authorities came and we all just stayed hidden ....so much noise and commotion!. The neighbor then came every day for over a year to take care of us. Time once again progressed and a lot of the friendly furry residents were adopted out through highly reputable rescue placements. The man's health got much worse and he had to go to the city for hospice. His family had come down from the north to settle the estate and sold it. The neighbor only had a short time to resolve the situation with us... We were going to lose our home even if we didn't have another home ready......One of the times the nice neighbor came to feed I mustered up enough courage to squeek out a quiet meow to see if she could help me....I was being bullied by the other residents and I hardly got enough to eat or drink so I hide in a safe spot within a bookcase. Maybe......Just Maybe....."Oh my little one there you are" she said softly as she saw me peeking out of the safe spot in the bookcase. "Goodness you are so terribly thin sweetheart" She then brought me fresh water, kibble and even nice pate to eat everyday. Not long after this she given a deadline to resolve "stuff". Well,.... long story short, my siblings and I were moved to the neighbor's safe home......Only my one sibling " White foot" was left behind ......BECAUSE....the new owner had contracted a company to come in and remove all valuables from the property that they could use.....AND they came in 3 days early!!!!! Breaking into the house through a window and then leaving doors and windows open....... with all that commotion I am sure my brother made a run for it to leave. So Sad... he couldn't be found..
The new digs were nice, clean and very quiet, but I had a lot of PTSD to work through. I was so scared of everything that I would stay inside the box within my kennel ....not leaving even to use the toilet, sleep or eat...The nice neighbor lady told me that this was not going to work so she reorganized my big kennel providing a bed, litter box with food and water only ....no hiding spot....helping me slowly work through my terrors. Blankets or sheets were put over the whole kennel at night so I would feel safe. Time went on and she was very patient with me showing me a gentle love that I had never known before. NOW, I have my very own cooled and heated apartment inside the Magnificent Royal Hilton ( my Princess sister Onyx is here too) . I can heal even more and discover the real me. I dearly love the touch of her gentle caress and belly rubs. Toys to play with all the while being safe from the other residents. I can see them through my door but they can't touch me. Affectionately , she calls me her "special Librarian". I also know she will make sure my new person/s understand me fully so it will be a match made in heaven.
