Doodles at the Pittsfield Farmers Market! Betty, Luna, and Koda all worked on their neutrality towards distractions, practiced some obedience, and got rewarded with social time from their many admirers today. A well-behaved and well-trained dog is welcome so many places, and allows dogs to live a more fulfilling and enriched life!

Starting June 10th, Intuitive Dog Training will be offering in-home private lessons in Berkshire County! Private lessons are the best format to address more serious behavior issues such as aggression, separation anxiety, and neighborhood reactivity. We will work together to understand your dogs' behavior and address the root causes of the issue, building a better relationship between you and your dog, and helping your dog feel more at ease with the human world we are asking them to live in.

Limited walk-and-train sessions will be available to established clients to aid in progressing your training when appropriate.

Dog neutrality work.
When people say that they want a dog who is good with other dogs, usually they me and they would like a dog who is neutral in the presence of other dogs, as seen in this video. Both girls, with minimal guidance, see the passing dogs and choose not to visit with them.
Eevee (German Shepherd) absolutely loves playing with other dogs, and has struggled with some frustration based reactivity in the past. She believes every dog is a new friend! Her humans have worked very hard on helping her learn to be more neutral in public settings (as well as an extremely reliable off leash recall), and it's paid off in her ability to go to new spaces and make fantastic choices like this!
