Did you know that our feline friends are true vocal artists? Cats can express themselves with up to 100 different sounds, showcasing their unique personalities and emotions. In comparison, dogs have a much simpler vocal range with about 10 distinct sounds. This incredible variety allows cats to communicate in ways that often leave us fascinated and amused. From soft purrs to demanding meows, each sound tells a story.

Whether we hate it or love it, cleaning is an important task we need to take care of. A clean environment is essential for positive mental and physical health. Before you break out the heavy-duty cleaners, did you forget anyone? That's right, your furry friend! Certain cleaning products can contain dangerous chemicals that are especially harmful to animals. Common offenders are bleach, drain cleaners, and stain removers. Below are some ingredients to look out for and avoid. If you're not sure which products are safe to use around your pets, give us a call at (580) 436-1030.

Remember, any food that isn't a regular part of a pet's diet—especially fatty foods like ham, gravy, dark turkey meat, and turkey skin—can cause issues ranging from diarrhea to pancreatitis, and some human foods can even poison your pets. Side dishes like stuffing and mashed potatoes may contain garlic, onion, leeks, or chives that are toxic to dogs and cats. Desserts may include dangerous-to-pets ingredients like chocolate, raisins, currants, and Xylitol (a popular sugar substitute)—so reserve the sweet stuff for humans only. Plus, chewing and swallowing bones may cause a life-threatening obstruction that requires emergency surgery.
