✨ Please help us welcome Dr. Jill Epling to the Allatoona Equine team! ✨

Dr. Epling is a 2026 graduate of Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from the beautiful state of West Virginia, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal and Nutritional Sciences with a minor in Equine Studies from West Virginia University in 2021.

With a lifelong passion for horses and veterinary medicine, Dr. Epling discovered her calling in equine practice throughout her years of schooling. She has experience working with a variety of patients and enjoys caring for horses of all breeds and disciplines. One of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is building relationships with clients and getting to know each horse as an individual.

Dr. Epling has special interests in internal medicine and the management of senior and metabolic patients, along with a passion for community outreach and education.

Outside of work, she enjoys camping and trail riding with her horse, spending time with family, caring for her pets, drawing pet portraits, and playing musical instruments.

Dr. Epling will officially begin seeing patients with Allatoona Equine on June 29th, and she is excited to meet clients and care for their horses this summer! 🐴💙

Be sure to give her a warm welcome in the comments!

Trading in boots for golf shoes for the day. ⛳️🐴

We were proud to sponsor this team in support of Cops for Kids! Featuring our own Dr. Walker alongside family and friends, this group represents what makes our clinic so special both in and out of the barn.

Nothing beats seeing great people come together for a great cause. 💙

Huge thanks to Stonewell Bodies for getting us set up so we can continue bringing quality care right to your barn.

Some of Dr. Rae’s impressive work 👏🐴

This guy had an unfortunate run-in with barb wire back in August 2025. Thankfully, the injuries narrowly missed critical structures, but he still sustained significant soft tissue trauma that required extensive wound management and surgical repair.

Dr. Rae performed careful debridement, closure, and placed supportive tension relieving sutures and buttons to help protect the incision while healing. Cases like this require patience, detailed aftercare, and teamwork between veterinarian and owner.

Fast forward to today… look at that healing! ✨

We’re incredibly proud of the recovery this horse has made. These success stories are why we love what we do.

❄️🐴 Inclement Weather Incoming, Horse Friends! 🐴❄️

With the possibility of black ice or snow moving across the South, it’s a good reminder that even though our winters are short they can still catch us off guard.

Before the weather moves in, take a few minutes to check the essentials:
💧 Ensure water sources won’t freeze overnight
🧥 Check blankets for proper fit and any damage
🌾 Consider adding a little extra hay for warmth

☀️ Don’t forget, temperatures often rebound quickly. Keep an eye on the forecast so blankets can be removed before it gets too warm. Cold is rarely an emergency, but overheating can be.

⚡ If using heat sources, do so safely. Check heated buckets, waterers, and cords to ensure they’re in good condition and properly grounded. Keep heaters well away from bedding and hay barn fires can start quickly.

Most importantly, check your emergency medications and make sure you have an adequate supply. Inclement weather can delay our doctors’ ability to travel, and having medications on hand can make a big difference. Please call/text our office to confirm medication pickup times before the storm arrives.

A little preparation goes a long way in keeping your horses safe, comfortable, and happy during sudden weather changes.

Stay cozy and give those fuzzy coats some extra love this weekend! 💙🐎

While our doctors collaborate daily, it’s not every day that you get to see both of them working together in person on a case like this.

When situations call for an extra set of eyes, Dr. Walker and Dr. Strobel work together to ensure every detail is considered and every patient receives thoughtful, thorough care.

We’re grateful for the trust you place in our team and your horses care. 🐴🤍
