Local Peeps: Anyone who knows me knows how much I value the Sanford-Springvale Y and all it has to offer. It is a very special part of my life and as a Board Member and long time supporter of the Y I invite you to the upcoming GALA event!
The event planners have done an amazing job and it is going to be a fantastic evening.

The Sanford-Springvale YMCA is hosting a GALA this Saturday, April 13th, to
“Raise the Roof” for its childcare expansion! This 21+ event features a DJ & dancing, cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and AMAZING raffle baskets. Each attendee will receive one free drink ticket for a glass of wine or beer AND one free chance to win a pair of diamond earrings donated by
Jeweler’s Outlet, valued at $1200.

Next week is Valentine’s Day 💕 and the U.S. alone is estimated to spend over $2 billion on flowers, many of which can be seriously toxic to our cats and dogs. Before you buy that beautiful bouquet for someone with pets, stop and check that you’re not accidentally gifting them something dangerous – their pets will thank you for it!

There are so many questions surrounding the Canine Respiratory Illness that has captured the attention of pet owners and veterinarians around the country. Trupanion recently hosted a webinar with two veterinary experts on infectious disease, Dr. Scott Weese and Dr. Michael Lappin, that explores what we know and what we don't know about the current respiratory illness affecting dogs. We thought you would find this both interesting and informative. Click on the link to watch the previously recorded webinar. For additional information please visit Dr. Weese's blog at wormsandgermsblog.com

Trupanion recently convened a panel of global veterinary authorities and thought leaders to discuss this timely topic.

Easter lilies kill kitties!
Please make sure that if you have pets, do not bring lilies into your home. The effects are very severe in cats! The lilies that may live in your home for a week are not worth risking your cat’s life.

To all of the people who want to argue that a Lily didn’t hurt their cat… that’s great for you! But it will kill others’ cats so we want to warn people. Maybe share an adoptable pet instead of arguing about a graphic created to spread awareness of Lily toxicity.
