So scary
The Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force is issuing an urgent public safety warning following the seizure of 64.8 grams of a dangerous synthetic drug mixture during an ongoing narcotics investigation. Testing confirmed the substance to be a combination of Eutylone, a synthetic stimulant and fentanyl.
Eutylone—sometimes sold as ecstasy or "molly"—is a synthetic cathinone, part of a drug class known as "bath salts." On its own, Eutylone is highly dangerous and unpredictable. When combined with fentanyl, the risks increase exponentially, making this combination especially lethal.
Fentanyl alone can often be reversed with naloxone (Narcan), but when it is mixed with stimulants like Eutylone, Narcan may not be effective enough to revive the individual, particularly if the stimulant effects delay or mask typical opioid overdose symptoms. Eutylone has driven a spike in overdoses across Florida, where it has been commonly found laced with other substances. It is now appearing in the Midwest, marking a troubling trend in drug trafficking patterns.
"Our Task Force is extremely concerned about this discovery," said Sheriff Rob Streck. "This is a lethal combination of drugs that is designed to mislead the user and maximize addiction potential. We want the public to know the risk is not theoretical—it's here, and it's deadly."
