Sawyer Martin
April 15, 2007~December 1, 2025
Sawyer Martin was born on April 15th, 2007 in Bristol, Tn and was adopted by me when he turned 6 wks old on May 29th, 2007. & took his trip over the rainbow 🌈 bridge on December 1st, 2025. He was the only boy in the litter he was born into. I named him Sawyer cause my favorite show on in ‘07 was LOST & my favorite character was Sawyer. My SawSaw (nickname) was always a pistol of attitude and made sure others knew he was too cat (even when he wasn’t). Sawyer was a great son to me and an even better friend to Rowdy (his best fur friend that passed in 2020) whom came and brought Sawyer to Cat Heaven at 8:05am on 12-01-2025. He left me how he was brought into my home “in my arms”. Sawyer leaves behind his CatMom Wendy, two sons Niles & Gizmo, cat friend Josie, Cat Granny & many other humans who knew & loved him too. Fly high my Sawyer Martin and know I loved you so much and I’ll take great care of Niles & Gizmo as we grieve your passing. This isn’t goodbye, but I’ll see you soon.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are thankful for the opportunity to care for Sawyer and his owner, Wendy. We know Sawyer loved his family well and was loved deeply!

Snooki, nook nook. Oh how our hearts hurt over the loss of your beautiful soul. She was my companion. The sweetest, smartest, most loving and loyal baby. A true treasure. She was much more than just a dog, she was more of a child than anything. Bringing so much joy and love to anyone she knew. Full of smiles, life and affection. It will never be the same without her here. I would do anything to have her forever. She was her mommy’s rock and helped me get through the toughest of times, never leaving my side and going everywhere with me. My little passenger princess and saving grace. Although I long for more memories with her..I am thankful for the many we did have. Furever a part of my heart and never to be forgotten. I love you and miss you babygirl, so much. Rest in peace until we meet again. ❤️🌈

God sent Katie to be my companion on February 24, 2018. Katie was a blessing to me and will always hold a special place in my heart. From day one I knew she would be loved and spoiled. While I worked during the day she attended daycare where she tolerated the other dogs. She and I attended puppy training and received our certificate of completion. She and I moved to our little cabin in Smyth county VA when I retired in July of 2019.

I accused Katie of being the reincarnation of my mother since some of her funny quirks reminded me of her. Nothing could be left out of place. She was always stealing socks, shoes and any clothing left unattended. She would even sneak washcloths and underwear from the clothes basket. She never chewed them, she would just take them, usually to her bed.

She was always there to anxiously meet the FEDEX person with the delivery which was usually her food, but even if it wasn't her food, she was excited and wanted to see what was in the box. She wouldn't go down the steps and wouldn't go past the shelfI would sit in front of the door if I wanted her to stay in the bedroom while I was away.

Katie always wanted to know what I was cooking and would stand beside me watching. She always had her little teaspoon of vanilla ice cream in her separate bowl and then would carry her bowl around.

Katie was my watch dog and doorbell and let me know if anything or anyone was around the house that wasn't supposed to be. It's amazing how much more they hear than we do.

Thank you to Nathan at Faithful Pets for your caring, patient and professional service. At a most difficult time, it was a pleasure to work with you.

Katie seems like a really precious girl who's absence will surely be missed. We are thankful to her owner, Keele, for allowing us the opportunity to care for them.

Thank you for your kindness and care taking care of our sweet boy Milo. He was the love of our cat lives. When I adopted Milo to be a barn cat 14 years ago, the person at the shelter said she “loved his smile.” We treasured this sweet boy and miss him deeply.

We are thankful for the opportunity to care for Milo and his family. He seems like a really precious boy, and we agree... he has a great smile! 😊

Maggie was more than a dog — she was a once-in-a-lifetime soul. A 12-year-old Boxer with a heart as big as her spirit, she filled every space she entered with warmth, loyalty, and a spark of stubborn independence that made her truly unforgettable.

She came into our lives in her own way — uninvited but clearly meant to stay. After weeks of stealing shoes and hearts from the yard next door, she finally walked into our home one day when the oven caught fire and the door was left open. Despite every effort to send her back, she refused to leave. It turns out, she had already decided where she belonged. From that day on, she never left my side.

Maggie was soulful and playful, protective and wise. She hiked mountains, camped under stars, and even joined me kayaking — always happiest when she was near me. For a time, she worked alongside me in a nursing home, where her gentle presence soothed and comforted dementia patients. She hated leashes but loved freedom, and she listened better than most people do. When she missed you, she’d quietly steal a shoe and cuddle it, holding on to the scent of the one she loved.

Her paws may no longer follow me from room to room, but her spirit is everywhere — in every sunrise hike, every quiet moment, and every pair of missing shoes.

Run free, sweet girl. You were my heart dog — the one who chose me, loved me fiercely, and taught me that the best souls never really leave us.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are grateful for the opportunity to care for Maggie and her owner, Terra. She has the sweetest story of love and joy, and it's clear she made a lasting impact on those she met.

Darla, aka Darla Paige, was my dream dog. When my first dog, Spankie, passed away, I knew I wanted a tricolored female corgi, and I had the name Darla picked out to keep the Little Rascals theme. When I contacted someone who bred corgis, she told me she didn't have a litter due for a bit, but knew someone who did. I was so anxious to have a corgi puppy that I said yes without asking questions about the puppy. She sent me two pictures after I said yes, and that puppy was exactly what I wanted. It was clearly meant to be. That little fur babe came into mine and my toddler's lives, and it was never dull for a moment. At times, I questioned, 'What did I get myself into?!' Her vet told her on her first visit, 'Darla, be good to your mom; you have some big shoes to fill.' She did fill those shoes and truly became the best little buddy I could ever ask for. She literally grew up with my toddler, who is now 16 years old. Everyone had to pet and talk to her, and if they didn't acknowledge her, she made sure they did. She was sassy, demanding, full of life and personality, loved her fruits and veggies, going for walks and car rides, getting pup cups - everyone knew her at our local coffee shop (they have a picture of her in the window), loved celebrating her birthday, the vacuum slayer, poopin' machine, Facebook famous, road trip partner, big on routine, mouthy little sweet potato. I can't even finish listing it all because she just had so many wonderful qualities. But at the end of the day, she was my soul dog. Friends joked she was the dog version of me. We had the pleasure of loving her for 11 years. Our home feels empty now, and we're just heartbroken. Darla was family. I appreciate you all for taking care of her for us. The little wooden box she came home in was beautiful, and I appreciate the timely manner in which she was able to be returned to us. Rest easy, my sweet girl; you are so loved and missed. 2/1/14 - 9/15/25

We are grateful for the opportunity to care for sweet Darla and her owner, Ashlee. She seems like she had quite the personality, accompanied with a whole lot of love.

On behalf of myself and my family, thank you for your sympathy, and for the kind and caring way you helped to preserve our memories of her forever.

Baby Girl stole our hearts from the day we rescued her! She came from a terrible living situation where she was in an outdoor kennel with 15 other dogs, something bad happened and she was one of the dogs that was taken from that environment. The day we first met her at the animal shelter we fell in love and our daughter cried all the way home because we didn’t make a decision that very day. That was on a Saturday, so we didn’t get to go back and see her for two whole days!! I was worried, and so was our daughter, that she would already be gone. I called first thing that Tuesday morning and asked if she was there. They told me she was on the list for euthanasia and that she didn’t do well with other animals, we didn’t have any other animals and we couldn’t wait to take her home. She was so sweet during our visits! As we were walking her out she tried to attack each dog kennel we passed.. but we still adopted her!

The day I got her home she and I bonded instantly! She has been such a sweetheart! She has been my daily side kick, my chicken guarder, my travel buddy, my hiking buddy, my emotional support doggy, but most of all, My very best friend!

We miss her terribly, but she is no longer in pain… cancer sucks! :(

Thank You,

Juanita Churchwell and Family ❤️
