Just wanted to say thank you for the loving care you give to our pets and our family. Our first pet that you took care of was our dear Sammy. Sammy was originally our daughter Cassie’s dog. She got him when he was barely a year old. He was a rescue puppy but in actuality he rescued her. She was in college at William and Mary on the other end of the state from home and very homesick. Little Sammy took care of that and became a part of our family here in Abingdon as we had to keep him for her when she went to Reno NV to graduate school. Sammy was the best dog and made us love dachshunds in general. We became rescue parents to two dachshunds, Momo and Lulu, who quickly became a bonded pair. Unfortunately we lost Sammy at the age of 13 in April, 2023, and we have a tuft of his hair and his paw print for our daughter to keep. Lulu left us in December, 2024, at the age of 12, and again we would not have taken her to anyone else than Faithful Pets. Little Momo remains and will turn 13 in September. We so appreciate the kind, loving work you do!

Thank you,
Keith and Jan Medeiros

Thank you for the gift of taking care of our precious Happy. I wanted to share a little more about our amazing friend.

My son Carter was diagnosed with autism at 2.5 years old. At 3 he ran from me and almost made it to a major highway. That day I sat in my car and called an organization about a service dog. A little less than a year later I got the call that our dog had been picked. He was with his puppy raiser preparing for us. We had chosen the name Happy because Carter referred to large dogs as “happy horses” and we wanted him to be able to say his name. Happy arrived in time for Carters 5th birthday. They became fast friends and Happy became our biggest hero. He was there to be a calming force in Carters life. He was also trained for finding Carter, and quickly trained himself to alert me to both nose bleeds and seizures. We spent 10 wonderful years with Happy protecting his best friend and becoming a member of our family. We are forever grateful for his puppy raiser that prepared him for life with Carter, our community that raised the money to make him a possibility for us, Airport Animal Hospital that saved him enough for Carter to say goodbye, Cherry Point for making his transition as easy as possible, and you Faithful Pets for taking such great care in giving him back to us.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are grateful for the opportunity to care for Happy and his family, the Gillenwaters. What an amazing role he played in his family that we are sure he will be greatly missed! He was a faithful companion through and through.

Roxy was a rescue, brought in to us as a puppy from our eldest daughter.(she had her brother)She was the funniest, loving dog we have ever known. In another email there are some pictures of her in our pool. One day i let her out to go potty, and as i was looking out the window to check on her she had climbed up on a float and was just chillin in the pool😂
I know in my heart she is with God because she loved everyone, no matter what they looked like, or how much money they were worth. In this crazy world we could all learn a lesson of love from Miss Roxy Jane! I added jane later because of her country accent, and i felt she needed a second name since she was such a southern debutante lol
Thank you for being so caring and respectful of our baby🖤
We miss her everyday

Pelúchin Nava
A gentle, faithful boy...
Pelúchin is a way to say "fluffy" in Spanish (like a stuffed teddy bear).
But it should mean 'faithful' because that's what our oldest doggy boy embodied for 17 years.
He loved adventures, plopping down in the creek after a hot day's walk, stealing the neighbor's gardening gloves, and gobbling up all sorts of food.
He never had a bad temperament in all his years. Indeed, he was friendly to everyone. Always happy and joyfully took life in stride.
He was patient and understanding with us,--his pack, HIS humans.
This gentle boy took his journey across the Rainbow Bridge on 2/28/25. 🌈🐾❣️Our hearts are shattered. 💔
He was, and will always remain, family.
Go venture in heaven, sweet Pelúchin--where all dogs are because they're nearest to perfection as any living thing.
And one day, when we cross the bridge, there you'll be--jumping up and down, and so will we.
Until then, "you'll be in our hearts, always."
Love like this never dies. ❣️🐾

We are grateful for the opportunity to care for sweet Pelúchin and his family, the Navas. He seems like a really special boy and we know they will miss him so much!

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our sweet Abby. For 13 years, she was a constant source of love and joy—cuddles, treats, her daddy, and her beloved stuffies were just a few of the things that made her happy. Our family will not be the same without her. We will miss her more than words can express. Rest easy, sweet girl. 💔🌈

Bandit King
We found Bandit and his sister Chloe when they were just 3 weeks old, left by themselves just a few feet away from dogs that could've eaten them if found. We took them both in; kept them warm, bottle fed and helped them use the potty. They was both sick as little babies, but Bandit was the worst. We almost lost him a couple times, but never failed him and was always there on his darkest days.

He always slept at my head on pillows that became his after his sister passed. Kept me warm and cheered me up on my sad days, loved to be brushed and his favorite words were "food" and "eat". He loved his food up til he got too sick to bother with food. His snores, meows and purrs will never be forgotten. At 15 years old he lived the best life we could give him and he made our life the greatest. Worst day was saying goodbye to him, but he isn't in more pain and no more suffering. Until we meet again, baby boy. Go have fun and find your sisters. Rest in peace bubby.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are grateful for the opportunity to care for Bandit, and his loving care takers, Monica Leonard and Connie King. Bandit seemed to bring a lot of joy to those he was around, and he will be certainly missed!

Miss Jewel Taylor

She was the sweetest and faithfullest girl. Always gentle and kind and wanting to please. We could look at each other across the room and understand without words, because we had our own language together. She was loved by all who met her and she loved and remembered every one, but did have some favorites lol. She was my 3rd child, my heart, and guide in many things. I learned alot about life and myself from her. She was my service dog before I needed a service dog. She would notify not only me but others if your sugar was up. She worked in healthcare with me as a therapy dog and in nursing homes with no leash needed. She just knew how to approach people and would lay her head in their lap, once she jumped up on a patients bed and laid with them...it made the patients day. She taught me so much and we trusted each other implicitly. She even taught herself to get me to walk away from situations (despite my protests) before I started a panic attack, somehow she just knew. I wished my Jewels could of stayed forever. She went so suddenly and unexpectedly. I wasn't ready... but I never could of been ready. Jewels your bowl and bed are empty despite the other ones needing it, cause I'm not ready still. Your harness and beautiful fur are still in my car. Your collar is on my bed post and will always be in my heart. You were a BEAUTIFUL gurl inside and out and you touched so many hearts and lives that there are still tears flowing and will be for awhile. You truly were a Jewel!
I'm glad you got to meet Charlie and help train him for the short time I had you both. He has some huge paws to fill! Sometimes,
I still feel your presence and I think i feel your head on my lap, it's both comforting and heartbreaking each time. I caught myself telling you to come while at the grocery store the other day but it was Charlie who came and he smiled at my tears, leaned into me and of course gently came as you would of. You may be gone but will never be forgotten. You were and always will be a Jewel! The perfect pup!

Izzy Gregory

Our sweet Little Izzy Girl, you would have been 13 years old January 13, God how we miss you. You was the one who held us together. You was our best friend. I never thought this day would come so soon, our hearts are shattered into a million pieces, we love you so much Izzy Girl. Izzy's passing has hurt a lot of people, Izzy had brother's and sister's and a couple special aunts and nanny's, one grandmother that loved her dearly. our home will never be same, it seems so empty without her here, all her stuff is still laying in the same place she left it, your bed is still in front of the fireplace were you loved to lay.
Izzy loved her daddy with all her little heart, she loved playing with her babies, she loved to travel with her mom and dad, she loved being in the mountains in the side by side with daddy and mommy, Izzy loved to take baths, she would run wild through the house, she loved when you would throw the towel over her so she could dry herself off, Izzy wasn't just a dog to us, she was family, our little girl. she was the smartest dog and her personality was the best, she loved everyone she met, and enjoyed cuddles. she was truly one of a kind..
Izzy loved to eat, she ate anything that her daddy would eat, her favorite thing was Chicken, she loved her little snacks and ice cream, and her dental treats, Izzy loved to go through drive thru's to get little tiny dog bones. Izzy's favorite store was
Lowe's she loved to get in the buggy and ride around as daddy pushed her through the store. our lives will never be the same
without you here.
we love you so much Sweet Izzy and selfishly wished you were still here, we knew it was your time to go, the only comfort we have is knowing your not suffering or in any pain, we know your running and playing and chasing squirrels. thank you so much for all the love and memories you left with us.. until we met again sweet girl, Love Daddy And Mommy

Alice Oquinn

Alice was a miniature schnauzer born on 11/02/09. She was pure sweetness from day 1. She loved to howl at the cat, nap, and be outside when she was healthy enough. She had a lot of stomach problems And ultimately we lost her to kidney failure a few days shy of her 15th birthday. Thanks to the best vet in the world, Dr Gina Robinson with VCA Highlands we had 15 years with her. She was our little soul mate. Her companionship got me through life ups and downs. She left the biggest hole in our hearts to have been so small.

Thank you all so much for taking such good care of our baby.

Steve "Stevie Wonder" Chandler

Thank you so very much for taking such good care of our precious baby. We spent 21 amazing years with Stevie Wonder, who showed up on our porch as a tiny kitten. He was blind, but you would never know. Steve was an adventurer and a lover, and we grew up together. He was just as much a part of the family as the 5 kids that he was raised with, and every bit as loved. We couldn't have asked for a better companion, and our lives are a million times better being blessed by him. We will always remember our Stevie. There will never be another one like him.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Stevie and his owners, the Chandler family. He seems like a really special boy that was loved dearly.

Sadie Strahorn

I was four years old when Sadie came into my life. She was all the love I’ve ever needed. Growing up with her was a privilege that I will never take for granted. She was a smart, stubborn, sweet, and wild best friend. She will always hold a special place in my heart. If I could describe her in one word, I would say she was a fighter. Towards the end of her seventeen years on this earth, she was diagnosed with cancer. That did not stop her from giving all the love she had left. So in return, it was my turn to give her all my love and support her cross to the rainbow bridge. My sweet girl, you are magic, I will never forget the lesson you have taught me. Even through the darkest times, stay strong because you will have the brightest light waiting for you. We all love you tater. We are so proud of you. Until we meet again.

I loved you for your whole life, and I’ll miss you for the rest of mine.

Paco Phillips

"My baby was born in December of 2010 and he would have been 14 in less than 3 months, he loved Cheese, back scratches and riding to wherever he could go. If he had to stay at home without me there he would walk back and forth you could hear his little paws pace, he would also lay by the front door and whine, or he would make the weirdest noise you would ever hear. He loved meeting new people even though he barked at first but then he loved all the attention after that. We love and miss Paco so very much our house is so much different without him but we know that he is in a better place and not hurting or struggling anymore. That is what eases our minds about Paco... We love you Baby"

BOBO Goodman
2014-2024

This big bundle of joy was my whole life for 10 years! He saved me from getting hit by a car, he stopped a Domestic Violence situation, he was my therapy dog, but most of all he was my best friend. He went everywhere with me, he was never left alone. He loved people and he loved his walks. Everyone in the city of Bristol (TN/VA) as well as Abingdon knew BOBO since we were always walking somewhere all over town. We took 2 walks a day, one for an hour and one for an hour and a half every day, weather DID NOT MATTER!! It was unbelievable how many people knew BOBO but didn’t know me!! He is DEFINITELY GREATLY MISSED!! His illness came up in a matter of days and then he was gone so it was VERY unexpected. I am DEVASTATED to say the least. He is gone but he will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!! LOVE YOU SO MUCH BOBO!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are so thankful for the opportunity to take care of sweet BOBO and his family, the Goodmans. It's clear he was a very special boy who was loved by all that he met. We know his family and community will miss him so much.

Mazie Grace Raines
March 12, 2008-July 3, 2024

We had the privilege of caring for this furbaby for 16 years. I prayed for an entire year before we got a pet. I would send my husband random emails with pictures of Westies trying to convince him I needed something to love. He jokingly said, “What about me??”. He finally gave in to my craziness. 😊 We were hooked from the moment we saw her. She has been our adventure buddy, lovebug, companion, and fierce protector. Who else could you get to lay on your forehead to reduce a fever?? Dr. Mazie to the rescue! Where we went, she went. The 3 of us were a package deal.

She loved to watch movies and tv shows with us. Her favorite movie was Jurassic Park (funny right?). She watched intently and when the dinosaurs ran, she ran. Her illness / death came as a shock to us however we cannot complain. The Lord gave us this perfect ball of fur for a very long time.

We are going to miss the way she snuggled with us at bedtime, rang the bell to go to the bathroom, and stomped her paw in excitement to get her dental treat. Our house is very quiet now but the sound of her paws will always be heard.

This is the 3rd pup Faithful Pets has cared for and we are grateful for their service.
