📸 Here's another "new to us" veterinary technician who LOVES having her picture taken! 😂 Kayla joined the AAH team in March during a busy spring season, and has really impressed us with her ability to learn on the fly and interact with clients and their animals.

Kayla grew up in Wichita and was introduced to farm life and large animals later in her teens after spending summers in the area. Those experiences eventually helped inspire her passion for veterinary medicine and animal care while working alongside her husband on the farm. Kayla attended Colby Community College and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is known for her strong work ethic, compassionate nature, and willingness to help both people and animals however she can. Her down-to-earth personality and dedication make her a valued part of the team!

⚠️PSA!!!🚨

We have lost two feline patients in the last week to a condition called Cytauxzoonosis. This is a parasite carried by ticks. Treatment is not always effective, even with early intervention and veterinary care.

🐱If your feline friend goes outside, please talk to your veterinarian about tick prevention. The owner asked us to post in hopes that someone else's cat does not come down with the same condition. 😢

WIGGLES WEDNESDAY!🐾

He ALWAYS runs into room #2 after cat appointments checking to see if we left any Churu (cat treats) on the table for him. We have no idea why his figure isn't what it used to be! 🤦‍♀️

This post is long overdue, but Meet Torrie, our part-time veterinary assistant!🐾

Torrie comes from a cattle ranch in Colorado, where she developed a passion for large animals and rural veterinary medicine. 🐃 She is currently attending Kansas State University, working toward her undergraduate degree in Animal Science with plans to attend K-State’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2027. Torrie enjoys learning all aspects of veterinary care and brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and love for animals to the clinic every day.😁

Thanks for being a part of the team, Torrie!

As storm and fireworks season is upon us, please let us know if your pet needs anxiety medication this summer! 💊Sometimes we don't get the medication or the dose for your pet correct on the first try (every pet is different), so it's a good idea to plan early!🎆
