Happy from shy Boysenberry. With just a little bit of effort, she is coming out of her shell and showing her chatty, affectionate side. Maybe you’re her furever purrson?
Happy Thursday from some of our adoptable feline crew!
A big thank you to all of our generous community members who have sent us items from our Amazon Wish List! This fantastic cat tree gifted from our wish list is definitely a treat for our feisty felines … and the Fancy Feast kitten pate fueling this cutie was also an Amazon gift!

WE ARE OVERWHELMED WITH DEMAND TO BRING US CATS & KITTENS. If you are ready to give a feline friend a new home, now is the time!
Meet Christine, Anya & Aubry! These sweet gals are currently looking for loving homes with lots of cuddles!
Christine (ADOPTED!!!) - This sweet lady came to us with three little ones in tow! Now that she's done nursing her babies she's ready to live the life she's always dreamed of. Looking for the cutest cuddle bug who loves to play and gets along with others? Well Christine is your girl. Come down to PAWS and meet her anytime during open hours.
Aubry (ADOPTED!!!) - Aubry seemed like a shy girl at first, but with just a little time to acclimate, she became a whole different cat. She will be waiting for you at the door telling you all about her day. Aubry came to us as a stray, so her history is unknown, but she is ready to move forward with a better life. If you're ready, come by today!
Anya - Get lost on Anya's deep blue eyes and fall in love with her silky fur. This beautiful girl is a little bit on the shy side, but once she's comfortable she will be asking for pets and attention. She can be picky about her feline roommates and hasn't been around dogs. Come by and meet this sweet girl today!

Meet Niko and Boo! PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION. BONDED PAIR
Niko is a male 10 year old Chihuahua
Boo is a male 11 year old Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix
Adopt: http://www.pawsgh.org/adopt/
Donate: Text PAWSGH to 53-555
This dynamic duo is ready to settle into retirement full of laps and naps. They are both very sweet and become very bonded with their person. Boo is overweight and will need some discipline to help him lose the extra poundage which will help keep pressure off his joints. Niko has a bad leg that he doesn't use, but due to a heart murmur cannot go under anesthesia to fix it. We are still making a long-term plan with a veterinarian, but will likely have to stay on medication to keep him comfortable.
Both dogs struggle with potty training but do well with belly bands! A special adoption fee is applied for this pair.
If you are able to give these two sweet boys a home during their golden years, please contact us for more information. They are currently at a foster home so appointments are required to meet.
UPDATE: ADOPTED!
Meet Tuna! This lovely lady with a kinky tail wants nothing more than your complete devotion. She adores a good petting and cuddle session but will settle down and relax without being overly clingy. She tolerates other cats, but is not a fan. She'd much prefer to have all of your attention.

Inmates help train the dogs as they seek forever homes
June 29 marks our 50TH ANNIVERSARY as a nonprofit (though our original founders were already working hard prior to 1973). We are celebrating this week (June 27 - July 2) by offering a $50 DISCOUNT on adoption fees for adult cats (1 year+) and all dogs (with the exception of our Freedom Tails crew).
Appointments are highly recommended for dog meets as many of our dogs are at foster homes or may be out and about for PAWS Around Town. Please note that while we are not "open" on Sunday, July 2, we can do pre-scheduled dog meets.

This young man has a one-of-a-kind personality and can't wait to tell you all about it! He holds a great conversation and will definitely make you laugh. Although he is a high energy pup, he is also very sweet and loving. He would do best in a home full of activities to keep him busy and on the go. If he gets bored he will find his own fun, good or naughty. He has a high prey drive and loves to chase and run so therefor does not do well with small animals. His favorite game is keep-away with the toy of the day. Does this energetic handsome man sounds like your perfect fit? Fill out an application today!
Meet Jojo! Jojo has been at PAWS of Grays Harbor for 2 months and would much rather be keeping your lap warm.
http://www.pawsgh.org/adopt/
Jojo is the sweetest potato you will ever meet. She loves her toys but loves cuddling more. She will crawl right into your arms if you let her. Jojo rides amazing in the car and would be the perfect companion for someone who goes on small adventures or just wants a gigantic lap dog to keep them company at home. She prefers to be the queen of the castle with no other dogs or cats in the home. Although she is approaching six years old, she is a young pup at heart. Her ideal castle would consist of endless toys and belly rubs!
Thanks Our Community Credit Union for stopping by today with a generous donation of supplies and funds to help us care for our pet crew!
Here's a sneak peak at our kitten crew ready to go home on Saturday!

Meet Froggie. This adorable puppy is currently at a foster home. Meet-and-greets for Froggie will be scheduled by appointment only and require a completed and approved dog application: http://www.pawsgh.org/adopt/
This little fella is new to us and here's what we know so far about him:
- Walks on leash okay
- Goes outside to use the restroom
- Okay around cats, ducks, and goats
- A little shy with new people
- Good with kids
- Sweet and goofy
Introducing PAWS AROUND TOWN, a new program that allows you to take one of our shelter dogs out for an adventure!
http://www.pawsgh.org/pawsaroundtown/
While our shelter dogs get regular yard time and walks in their daily routine, there is no substitute for public interaction. By taking them out for just a few hours a day, you are helping our temporary residents exert pent up energy and get some mental stimulation by experiencing new places and people! We hope that as a result of the PAWS Around Town program, our dogs will be less anxious and exuberant when they meet potential adopters. We also hope they gain useful life skills they normally wouldn’t learn from just sitting and waiting around in the shelter.
Good morning from Mindy! She, along with her friend Adella, are the current longest stay resident cats at the shelter. Mindy is a very shy gal, but loves pets and a heinie scratch!
Time for a Freedom Tails update! Read all updates and check out the crew at http://www.pawsgh.org/freedomtails/.
Freedom Tails is a program that pairs up a duo of incarcerated handlers with a dog for 12 weeks of socialization and training. The current batch of dogs will be available in July 5. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled by appointment only and require a completed and approved dog application.
This week, let's check in and see how Wesley is doing ...
Day 42… Hi folks, it's Wesley! If you are reading this I’ve found a successful smuggling route. Prison is NOT what I thought it’d be! I did find the biggest guy in the yard and put him in his place! That place just happens to be my trainer. HAHAHA! My simple tricks amuse him to no end. Really! Just - sit, down, roll over, shake, wave (with both paws), kennel, place. And get this, if I just walk beside him so he can look “cool” to the other two leggeds he gives me sausage! Unbelievable! I'm still not a fan of new people looming over me and uniforms still creep me out but the big guy and I are working on it. I'll message you again soon, until then - Live easy & play ruff! - Wesley Barkenheimer

Meet Little Bits.
This sweetheart would enjoy a quiet home with someone who has a little bit of patience to help coax her out of her shell. She is very sweet and loves pets, but is shy in a busy environment. Once she know you, she will ask for your attention without being overwhelmingly needy. She's a hidden gem waiting to be discovered!

We love updates! I adopted my cat Tofu (known as Simon when he was at PAWS) about a year and a half ago, early March of 2021. I wanted to reach out because he has made the most incredible impact on my life and my partner Niko’s life. When we started looking for a cat, we both wanted one who was affectionate and cuddly. Niko was hoping for a chatty one with a silly voice. He was very shy in the shelter but after a day under our bed, he became the most loving, charismatic, jaw-droppingly funny cat. He comes running when we call his name and also responds to “little baby man” and “little guy”. He’s the worst cuddler in our house (he kneads with his claws out, as close to your face as you’ll allow), but waking up with him every morning has been the best part of the last couple years. Thank you and your team for helping us find the perfect cat, and for taking such good care of him while he was with you.

Nothing quite as good as watching the inner puppy come out! These two live to play.
TJ has been volunteering at PAWS for two years. He's started working toward his Eagle Scout rank. For his project, he'll be renovating an existing room and will turn it into three separate birthing suites for our pregnant kitties or those who've just given birth. The estimated cost of the project is $1k. If you'd like to donate to this project, please mail your donation to PAWS of Grays Harbor Attn Eagle Project PO Box 451 Aberdeen, WA 98520 Or drop your donation off on Wednesday or Saturday between 1130am and 3pm.

Today's Sunday Buttday features several of our cattery residents! 🐱🐦💫 One of our cats' favorite times is playtime! They really love chasing toys on sticks and partaking in some "hardcore parkour!" They are not afraid to show off their amazing climbing skills and their strong hunting capabilities. There is something very therapeutic watching a cat's eyes light up when something catches their eyes as their natural instinct kicks in to hunt and let out their energy. This lovely girl being featured in today's Sunday Buttday was adopted 8 years ago from PAWSGH! It is amazing seeing life-long bonds built between humans and animals. Kirby Sue is a perfect example of how the time and energy put into caring for an animal and helping them through the adoption process is all worth it in the end. Often when they first come in they are scared and confused and as a result, hide in a shell. Seeing these beautiful beings slowly open up and show their personality is a thing every team member at PAWSGH never gets tired of and always brings a happy flutter to the heart. 💕☀️ You go Kirby Sue! #adoptdontshop #makeadifference #dogs #dog #dogsoffacebook #pawsghdogs #pawsgh #cute #cuteanimals #animalshelter #petbuttday #sunday #funny #funnyanimals

PAWS of Grays Harbor protects dogs and cats until united with family.
PAWS of Grays Harbor is the largest No Kill animal shelter in Grays Harbor County serving over 70,000 members of our community. We were established as a non profit organization in June of 1973 making our home in Aberdeen, WA. This organization serves our community through the education of pet owners; providing a safe shelter for lost, abused and unwanted pets; a reduced cost Spay and Neuter Program to limit the number of unwanted pets; and through pet adoptions to suitable homes. Many lives have been changed through the love and commitment to saving abandoned and abused pets.
Approximately 500 animals find new homes and loving families through our organization every year. At times during the year, PAWS has housed as many as 80 cats and 20 dogs at one time. These numbers fluctuate depending on the space, funds and man power available to care for these pets. We would love to take every pet in need, but are sometimes forced to turn them away until space becomes available. Through pet adoptions, community volunteers, and donations we are able to change the lives of many people and animals. When you are considering your next pet, please consider adopting a rescue animal. The life you save allows us to save one more.
Our organization relies solely on community donations to make this all possible. Please consider donating to make sure these services are available in our community for many years to come.
