πŸΎπŸ’• Senior Cat Update: Meet Prune! πŸ’•πŸΎ

Our sweet senior Himalayan mix, Prune, is still waiting for her second chance at a loving home.

Poor Prune appears to have been left outside, and sadly, no one ever came to reclaim her. Despite everything she has been through, Prune remains a gentle, affectionate girl who enjoys attention and is ready to spend her golden years in the comfort of a loving home.

As a senior cat, Prune deserves a family willing to provide the extra care, patience, and love that comes with adopting an older pet. In return, she will reward you with companionship, gratitude, and plenty of affection.

If you have room in your heart and home for a special senior lady, please consider giving Prune the happy ending she deserves.

To learn more about Prune or to find out how you can help, please contact the Old Bridge Animal Shelter at (732) 607-4801 or email [email protected].

🐱❀️ Please share to help Prune find her forever home!

πŸ°πŸ¦†πŸ¦ It's baby season, and we need the public's help! πŸ¦πŸ¦†πŸ°
Please stop picking up baby wildlife.

Every year, well-meaning people find baby rabbits, birds, squirrels, and other wildlife, bring them inside, attempt to feed them, and then call animal control. In most cases, these babies are not orphaned.

Wildlife moms often leave their babies alone while they search for food. A rabbit nest in your yard, babies under your deck, or a young bird on the ground does not automatically mean they need help.

Before intervening, ask yourself:
βœ” Is the animal visibly injured?
βœ” Is there blood, a broken limb, or flies present?
βœ” Has the mother been confirmed deceased?
If not, the baby likely needs to stay right where it is.

We know they're adorable and you want to help, but every year, healthy babies are accidentally orphaned because someone assumed they were abandoned.

πŸ₯΅ HOT WEATHER = DANGEROUS FOR COMMUNITY CATS πŸ₯΅

When temperatures rise, outdoor cats struggle to find clean, safe water.

Dehydration can happen FAST β€” especially for kittens, senior cats, and nursing moms.

πŸ’§ A simple bowl of water can SAVE A LIFE.

βœ”οΈ Put out fresh water daily
βœ”οΈ Place bowls in shaded areas
βœ”οΈ Use heavier bowls so they don’t tip over
βœ”οΈ Add ice cubes on extremely hot days
βœ”οΈ Refill daily β€” water heats up quickly!

🚨 Metal bowls can become dangerously hot in the sun. Stick with ceramic or sturdy plastic when possible.

Community cats are surviving the heat the best they can. A few minutes of kindness from us can make a huge difference for them. ❀️

🐱 If you feed them, PLEASE give water too β€” and don't forget to spay + neuter!
