Heather McClymonds is a seasoned pet groomer with an impressive 16 years of dedicated experience in working with animals of all shapes and sizes. Her journey in the world of pet grooming began with a deep passion for animals and a commitment to ensuring their well-being and happiness. She has several years’ experience working with Gettysburg Animal Hospital, as well as fostering dogs for PA Caring for Canines.
Over the years, Heather has honed her skills in grooming, mastering the art of transforming even the unruliest furballs into beautifully coiffed companions. Her expertise extends beyond the usual suspects like dogs and cats, as she has fearlessly taken on the challenge of grooming a diverse array of animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and even the occasional reptile.
Rules & Regulations
1. Humanity before Vanity. We will keep the dogs coat as long as possible but will not stress them out trying to demat their coat. Please brush your pets daily to avoid matting. Please research dog breeds grooming upkeep prior to purchasing your pet.
2. Cancellation Policy:
a. Please text or call within 24 hours of your appointment. If you do not, you will be charged the full grooming price which will then be added to your next appointment if you choose to reschedule.
b. If there is inclement weather, you will not be charged the fee.
c. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will need to reschedule and will be charged the full grooming fee.
3. Drop off and Pick-up:
a. Due to limited space, we are a drop off and pick up facility ONLY. We only allow pet owners to stay if their pet has a severe medical condition. We will call/text you when your pet is finished. You may wait in the parking lot if needed.
b. Please drop off and pick up at your specific appointment time. If you arrive early, please wait in the parking lot until your appointment time and then you may enter.
c. If you arrive early to pick-up, please wait in the parking lot until you receive a call/text from us.
4. Heather’s Pet Grooming does not have a website or an online booking system. To book you can call or text 717-479-1247
5. We only accept Cash, Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, and Checks
6. We only service one family pet(s) at a time to reduce stress for your animals and to provide a calming environment.
7. Please advise us if your pet is aggressive or reactive to other people and animals.
8. Aside from current clients, due to different circumstances, we will no longer be taking dogs over 50lbs, no cats, and no weekend availability as of January 26, 2024.

Important Matting Information

• Matting is a condition in your animal's fur that is caused by dense tangles and knots. It's a painful condition that can lead to other health concerns such as infections or skin irritations and can also mask other health issues or parasites.
• Matted parts of your animal's coat will not dry properly and, if left untreated, could lead to rotting fur and skin. Sometimes mats even occur in places where urine or f***s can get stuck or embedded in the fur putting your animal at risk for further infection.
• Matting can pull tight at the skin and to remove it a short clipper blade must be used. After removing it the blood rushes back to the skin and it can look like an abrasion or rash hours or days after the actual grooming.
• We do our best to keep your pet comfortable when shaving the fur. However, if the matting is too severe, we will recommend you see a veterinarian. Your pet may need to be sedated to remove matted fur safely.
For severely matted cats and dogs, I am not reliable for any knicks, cuts, hotspots, skin infections, or hematomas of the ear etc. during or after grooming.
