Dear colleagues bird flue is here let's endeavour to prevent the spread to our farms knowing there's cure. For prevention: house all birds(local/hybrid), step up general cleanliness on the farm, avoid visitors if possible, spray all containers including trays. Maintain water bath places with disinfectant at all times. We are at war let's fight to keep our farms in business.

A warning to us African poultry farmers

SOUTH AFRICA - McDonald’s South Africa has announced plans to switch to 100 per cent cage-free eggs in its supply chain by 2025, similar to announcements by companies in the US, UK and Latin America.

So we decided to go green with the local poultry birds start very small (6in no.) with no formal basics and now the chickens r over 60 and destroying all vegetation including our gardens. We got to control abit and a local structure on the way. Keep eyes here! 😉
