It is a Hybrid Napier Grass developed in Thailand, by Dr. Krailas Kiyothong - A Renowned animal nutritionist and plant breeder.

Has the following key qualities
☆ Super Napier Pakchong 1 is the only variety in Uganda giving highest crude protein 16-18%.
☆ Highly suitable for making silage due to its high levels of water soluble carbohydrates.
☆ Pakchong 1 Super Napier is propagated via cuttings.
☆ The first harvest is done from 75 to 90 days after planting and subsequent cuts are taken after intervals of 45 to 60 days.
