Growth and Impact: The Power of Food Forests

We’ve been hard at work bringing our vision of food forests to life, and it’s incredible to see the impact it’s already making! Working with nature instead of against it has created sustainable solutions that are helping people thrive in ways we always dreamed of.

🌱 What is a Food Forest?

Think of it as a naturally designed, layered garden that provides food, regenerates the land, and supports communities. Here in Uganda, this approach is changing lives by helping farmers grow more food sustainably, while also offering healthier, organic products for families.

🌍 Impact on Communities

We’re proud to see how these food forests are providing income, fresh food, and opportunity to communities in western Uganda. Refugees and locals are working together, growing premium produce, and creating amazing value-added products—right from the land. 💪

✨ What’s Next?

This is only the beginning. We’re excited to share more about how we’re expanding these efforts, creating more products, and reaching even more people. Join us on this journey as we continue to "Eat Well, Be Well, and Do Well!" 🌿

"Be the Change You Want to See"– The Journey of Obuntu bwa Casalina

In 2019, I faced one of the toughest times of my life. Losing my father, my greatest champion, just as the world shut down due to COVID-19, left me in a whirlwind of emotions and uncertainty. But in the midst of it all, a spark ignited. With the support of the National Social Security Fund’s Hi-innovator Accelerator and a drive to honor my values, I decided to take action.

💡 The Vision: Uganda’s rich and fertile land is a gift. My mission has always been to embrace this abundance by creating food forests—working with nature to create sustainable, regenerative systems. These forests not only provide organic food but also premium, value-added products, empowering marginalized communities in Uganda to thrive.

🌍 The Turning Point: Armed with this vision, I pitched my idea to Uganda, aiming to transform the lives of refugees and underserved communities in western Uganda. Divine timing led me to the Foundation fellowship through , which provided the tools I needed to bring this vision to life.

✨ The Journey Begins: Today, this dream is a reality. Hundreds of lives are being impacted through our food forests and sustainable practices. We are creating value chains that connect the land, people, and market in ways that uplift and inspire. This is just the beginning.

➡️ Join Us: Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing stories of how our journey began, the challenges we've overcome, and the exciting growth ahead. Follow us as we continue to "Eat Well, Be Well, and Do Well." 🌱
