Today we are at the Barlegi–Otuke Presidential Demonstration Farm, a place blessed with rich fertile soils and thriving agriculture. The farm is full of fruits, bananas, coffee, and pineapples spread across multiple acres, showcasing the great agricultural potential of the area. We have successfully reached Phase Three of the Green Shelter for Hydroponic Fodder in Nabilatuk District.

This milestone brings us closer to providing a reliable source of nutritious fodder for livestock, especially in regions that frequently experience drought and pasture shortages.

Through hydroponic fodder systems, communities can produce fresh animal feed using minimal water and space, helping pastoralists keep their animals healthy even during the dry season.

We appreciate the continued support and teamwork making this possible.

Karamoja frequently suffers from severe drought, leaving pastoralists with very little pasture to feed their animals and poultry. During our first pilot project in 2021, we demonstrated that hydroponic fodder systems can significantly support livestock farmers when communities are properly trained to operate and maintain them. With our new client now on board, we are confident that expanding these systems will positively impact many livelihoods and help communities sustain their animals during the dreaded dry season.
