We Refused Several Buyers Last Week… Here’s Why!
Last week, we had to turn down several buyers – not because we don’t want to find loving homes for our kittens and puppies, but because of a seasonal trend: people trying to give pets as surprise gifts.
With Valentine’s Day approaching, we’re seeing a surge in people wanting to give their loved ones a kitten or puppy. The same thing happens every year before Christmas and New Year’s.
And here’s where it gets even crazier: some buyers try to arrange a pet’s delivery from one country to another, while they themselves are in a third country!
Just imagine:
📦 A buyer from Egypt arranges the process.
🚪 Their partner opens the door in Warsaw, Poland…
🐶 And there’s our courier, standing there with a puppy or kitten from Ukraine!
😨 The recipient had no idea they were about to welcome a pet!
Now, let’s be honest… Even if someone once said they wanted a pet, it was probably just an idea. If they truly wanted one, they would have already taken steps to get one themselves.
And what happens next? Maybe the recipient will be happy, but:
❌ Some refuse the pet altogether.
😬 Others reluctantly accept but aren’t thrilled about it.
🐾 Some wanted a pet, but not this specific one – because they weren’t the one making the choice.
🎯 The Right Way to Give the Gift of a Pet:
Instead of making an impulsive decision, talk to your loved one first. Let them know you’d like to help them welcome a kitten or puppy into their life and offer to support the process.
✅ They should personally explore Lapa.shop and find a furry friend that suits them.
✅ We can assist with the next steps to ensure everything goes smoothly.
That way, the pet goes to someone who truly wants them, and the new owner gets to experience the joy of choosing their perfect companion.
A pet is not a toy, not a surprise, and definitely not a one-time gift. It’s a lifelong commitment. Let’s make sure every pet finds a loving and prepared home! ❤️
