Ismael Animal Rescue Tanzania was started in 2016 by a very generous soul name Ismael Mungaya. Unusual for someone in his country, Ismael's love for animals and witnessing the sad situation of abused and neglected street dogs in his city of Arusha, he found a way to construct a small shelter on his father's plot and continues to dedicate his time to improve the lives of street dogs in Tanzania. Dogs that Ismael finds and those whom are surrendered to him are cared for by any means necessary, working closely with local trusted Vets to ensure all dogs are: - brought up to good health and weight - vaccinated and wormed - spayed or neutered - treated for any diseases or injuries Ismael also puts a lot of effort into educating his community that dogs are not to be feared. Remarkably he has managed to change many people's beliefs about dogs, beliefs that have been ingrained in them from childhood. The dream now is to expand the shelter, to purchase a plot (so that his father can have his back also) and build bigger, better shelters which will allow him to rescue many more dogs alongside developing sustainable ways to support his venture.
