LCO - Life Caring and Animal Rescue Organization Taiwan

L.C.O is a non-profit organization which is devoted to animal rescue, blood center, free neutering tour, life education, human care program, and charity store.

L.C.O. focus its task on stray animal rescue including serious car accident, rubber band tied on the neck, animal abuse, gin trapped and other urgent conditions. The area of operation covers Taiwan and Amoy, Mainland China. The goal of L.C.O is to raise the awareness of respecting stray animal. After series of rescue missions, L.C.O started to gain public recognition and receive supports (donation

s to animal ambulance/rescue vehicle) from generous organizations and individuals. In 2009, the L.C.O rescue vehicle was rewarded road rights by the government, and was the first vehicle dedicated to animal in Taiwan. Under the principle of “life-respecting”, L.C.O recently added the humanity item including helping disadvantaged children and care for the poor and sickness. Moreover, L.C.O has been cooperated with Bureau of National Health Insurance to raise the fund to assist disadvantaged young children to receive basic medical and education rights. L.C.O is now in a transitional stage for further development in broader aspect and is actively seeking opportunities in experience sharing with other animal welfare groups from both domestic and overseas. Through valuable sharing, L.C.O hopes to bring benefits to stray animal, to further raise the animal welfare standard in Taiwan.

This is a race against time, and we need your strength. The "Sanxia Dog Shelter" is currently facing unprecedented challenges. 很多人不知道，在政治高度對立的年代，美國其實曾出現一項跨黨派、罕見一致支持的動物保護立法成果。

川普總統任內，美國正式通過並簽署《狗與貓肉品貿易禁止法》，全面禁止以食用為目的的狗與貓買賣與運輸。

這項法律，讓原本存在於灰色地帶的殘酷行為，第一次在聯邦層級明確劃下紅線。

不只如此，後續的國防授權法案也大幅限制美軍在研究與訓練中使用狗與貓進行痛苦實驗，終止多項長期備受爭議的測試方式。這代表，美國開始用制度告別「犧牲動物換取數據」的舊思維。
這些法律，實實在在改變了無數動物的命運。

動物保護不該是政治立場，而是一個文明社會最基本的底線。

🐶 「 L.C.O. SPCA 」Zhaosheng Association expresses its gratitude to the New Taipei City Animal Protection Office for donating 300 bags of dog food to the association's dog shelter, upgrading the association to a pet registration station, and donating two microchip scanners.

🧧 The remains of most of the deceased stray animals in the association's freezer have been emptied and cremated, giving them final dignity. May the children rest in peace with the Bodhisattva.

We only hope that in your next life, you can find happiness and joy on the other side of the rainbow bridge, and that this merit will be dedicated to the association's silent supporters over the past 20 years. 🧧 Not just cats and dogs, all animals deserve to be treated kindly.

🚑 Association Member Announcement: When the association was founded, it had ample funds to provide free rescue, free medical care, and free shelter. However, after the pandemic, the association is now struggling to even keep the 100 cats and dogs at the kennel fed with over 120 bags of food, cover the 50,000 NTD rent for two locations, medical expenses for sick cats and dogs at the kennel, rescue vehicle maintenance, fuel, personnel costs, cremation fees, etc. 😭

Now, we can only wait for kind-hearted members or a general cash donation of 10,000 NTD yuan to help us see if we can afford to hire young cat and dog rescuers to come and help.

"The Sanxia Park has been unable to raise funds for years, resulting in outstanding debts to management personnel and unfunded repair projects. The fear of collapse poses a threat to the lives of cats and dogs. A dog and cat park with hundreds of pets not only has to cover feed costs, but also numerous other expenses, such as rent for the dog land, medical expenses for sick pets, sterilization costs, manager salaries, cremation fees, utilities, and more. It all costs money. The association has requested the New Taipei City Animal Protection Department to dissolve and take over. Now we can only wait and see whether the association's donations increase and the Department's response."

freezer is full again. The cremation company said: It will cost NT$25,000 to clear out all the bodies of cats and dogs. If they are not cleared out, there will be no way to cremate the furry children with their final dignity after they pass away.
