Behind every successful veterinary hospital is a team that never stops showing up.
Yesterday was one of those days.
Our team of two veterinarians and two-and-a-half veterinary assistants started before 6:30 a.m. and didn't finish until almost 9:30 p.m., caring for 35 patients. It was a long, exhausting day, but every patient received the attention they deserved.
Today, despite the fatigue, two of those same team members returned to work alongside our Saturday on-call veterinarian.
Our owner/ Senior veterinarian, and clinic manager also came in on the public holiday—not because they had to, but because our patients needed them. Together, they performed two emergency pyometra surgeries and one sarcoma removal before lunchtime, while our on-call veterinarian and the rest of today's team continued seeing consultations, emergencies, treatments, admissions, and caring for every patient who walked through our doors 20 in total.
Yes, we're tired.
The long hours, weekends, and public holidays can be physically and emotionally demanding. But our commitment to our patients, our clients, and each other never stops.
This is what veterinary medicine looks like behind the scenes. It isn't just about surgeries or consultations—it's about teamwork, sacrifice, compassion, and always being there when animals need us most.
