This is Chelsea,
She has been a t the shelter since before covid in 2019.
She was one of our Akbük street dogs, taken to the shelter for her protection because a guy was going to shoot her for chasing his daughter on her bicycle. She fell off and grazed her knee.
We didn’t want her relocated to somewhere she didn't know so she became a resident, a free runner at the shelter. She could have gone off at any time but she stayed.
Chelsea wasn't just a street dog , she was our street dog.. our friend. She greeted us with the grinniest grin, sometimes nearly knocking us over, she was so pleased to see us.
We fed her and treated her so she never drained shelter resources.
The shelter knew she was special to us, me in particular.
So WHY DID THEY RELEASE HER ONTO THE STREET OR WORSE STILL EUTHANISE HER. WE DON'T KNOW WHICH , THEY SAY THEY DON'T KNOW. BUT SOMEONE DOES.
I am absolutely devasted with worry. Where is she, is she OK.
We don't expect favours or preferential treatment. But we can't understand why they did it. WHY couldn't they have talked to us first. And before you say language difficulties... they soon make themselves understood when they need something,
If they cannot find her, scruffy and the others and bring them back .. then sadly I will nolonger support them..
AND If the law goes the way that the government intends and all animals are put to sleep after 30 days, I will not be party to help fundraise to build ' a death row '.
CoDA Care of Didim Animals was to prolong and preserve life. This wasn't part of the deal.
As a group we will have to meet and decide what they want to do.. BUT I personally will not be involved in the shelter. If someone else wishes to take over the beds project or if not i will be refunding all donations.
I will continue to help the street animals while they are around.
I am sorry but this act of unkindness..I will never forgive or forget.
