Based in Wok Tum on Koh PhaNgan, PACS provides medical care to the stray, temple and wild animals of the island. We have a dedicated neutering and vaccination program carried out with the help of volunteer vets and vet nurses. PACS provides daily hospital care for many animals who require daily medication, and also out-patient care on "house-call days" where the nurse traverses the island attending to those who need less regular care/treatment.

URGENT CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS 🐾
We are looking a bit short on the ground next month, so we are putting out a call for volunteers; full-time and part-time spots open.

Full-time: 24–32 hours/week, free accommodation available if you need it
Part-time: 4–8 hours/week, fit around your own schedule

Day to day it’s feeding all the animals, cleaning cages and the clinic, laundry, dog walking, raking leaves, and general cleaning; honestly, there’s always something to do 😅

What is CNVR, and why does it matter? 🐾

CNVR stands for Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return. It’s the internationally recognised, humane method for managing stray animal populations, and it’s what PACS has been doing since 2001.

Here’s how it works: stray dogs and cats are caught, sterilised, vaccinated against rabies and other diseases, and then returned to the area they came from. Over time, this naturally stabilises the population; no new litters, fewer strays overall, and a healthier, calmer community of animals.

Why not just remove strays instead? Removing animals without sterilising the rest doesn’t work, it creates a gap that unsterilised animals quickly fill by breeding, and the cycle continues. CNVR is the only approach shown to actually reduce numbers sustainably over the long term, without cruelty.

PACS carries out around 80 sterilisations a month, dogs and cats combined, that’s over 9,700 animals sterilised so far. Every procedure is free for strays and temple animals, funded entirely by donations.

How to spot a PACS-sterilised animal: every animal we sterilise gets a small tattoo inside the ear, along with the tattoo number and the month/year it was done; for example, 126, January 2026. This gives anyone on the island; vets, volunteers, or residents; a permanent, visible way to confirm an animal has already been sterilised and vaccinated by us.

Sterilisation isn’t just about numbers. It reduces roaming, fighting, and disease spread, and it means fewer puppies and kittens born into a life on the street.

PACS ทำหมันสุนัขและแมวรวมกันประมาณ 80 ตัวต่อเดือน รวมแล้วกว่า 9,700 ตัวจนถึงปัจจุบัน ทุกขั้นตอนไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายสำหรับสัตว์จรจัดและสัตว์ในวัด โดยได้รับทุนทั้งหมดจากเงินบริจาค

Meet Willow! 🐾

This sweet girl was brought to us after being hit by a car, with severe, heavily bleeding wounds to her back legs. Despite the pain she was in, Willow has shown us just how much of a sweetheart she is; friendly, trusting, and brave through it all.

Since arriving, she’s been getting her wounds cleaned, pain relief, and daily bandage changes. And we’re so happy to say... she’s healing beautifully! Just days in, Willow has already started walking around the clinic, and she’s an absolute angel during every bandage change 🐕

Recovery like this takes time, care, and resources, and the cost of her ongoing treatment and bandage changes is adding up. We’re asking for your help to give Willow everything she needs to make a full recovery.

Can’t believe it’s already been a week since this amazing night at The Lakehouse | Pub & restaurant

What a night it was, not only an incredible atmosphere and so much fun, but also a huge success for PACS. Together, we raised an incredible 53,000 THB for the animals in our care.

A very special thank you to B U B B A ‘S C O F F E E & The Lakehouse | Pub & restaurant for making this happen. From coming up with the idea and reaching out to us, to providing the venue, free pizza, and donating 30% of all drink sales to PACS, we are incredibly grateful for your support and generosity 🙏🏼

And of course, a huge thank you to the entire staff who worked so hard throughout the night to keep everything running, especially with such a big crowd.

We couldn’t have done this without all of you. Thank you for supporting PACS and helping us make a real difference for the animals we care for 💜🐾

🐾 Did you know? Koh Phangan has had ZERO confirmed rabies cases since PACS began vaccinating in 2001. 🐾

That’s not luck, it’s the result of over two decades of consistent, community-funded work. Every month, PACS gives around 100 free rabies vaccinations to stray and temple animals across the island, alongside distemper, parvo, and adenovirus vaccines. To date, we’ve delivered more than 12,400 rabies vaccines.

This matters for everyone on the island; locals, visitors, and animals alike. Rabies is fatal once symptoms appear, and Koh Phangan’s rabies-free status is something few islands in the region can claim. It exists because of ongoing vaccination, not because the risk isn’t real.
