These items are so helpful for our rescue dogs and daily care needs. The Dogster Fresh food will be especially useful for some of our sick, recovering, and fussy dogs who need softer, nutritious meals. We also have dogs on specialised diets, so having extra quality food options really helps us.

The Royal Canin gastrointestinal food is always valuable for dogs with sensitive stomachs or digestive issues, and the pet shampoo will be put to good use keeping some of our dogs clean and comfortable.

Kaao & Wua have now returned home to their temple after their spay surgeries and one week recovery at LCA. 💛

They were happy to be home, and their puppies were clearly overjoyed to be reunited with their mamas. 💓🤗💓

We’re so relieved to know they will not be bringing any more puppies into the world. A huge thank you to everyone who donated to help make this happen. 🙏

💛 Hua Kha is home! 💛

We picked Hua Kha up from hospital this evening after her bronchoscopy procedure.

Thankfully, she is currently stable, eating, sleeping well, and showing no signs of pain, coughing, or bleeding.

Her blood test showed an elevated white blood cell count, likely due to inflammation or infection following the procedure, but the good news is there were no signs of bleeding and her other blood values were within normal range.

Hua Kha is now back at LCA recovering with us while continuing antibiotics. 🐾

We are now waiting on her f***l exam, biopsy, cytology, and bacterial culture results, which will help guide the next steps in her treatment. 🤞🤞

There has been a lot happening regarding the orchard dogs, so we wanted to share a clear update.

Many of you have followed the story of the orchard dogs over the past year. These dogs have been under LCA’s care and support since July 2025. This is one of our community support projects, and we continue covering their food, medical care, treatment, sterilisation, and ongoing costs.

Following the recent hunting, poisonings and the heartbreaking loss of Pixie, and others missing, keeping the remaining dogs safe on the property has become even more urgent.

As part of this, we safely caught one of the dogs in our trap cage this week and moved him back into the temporary farm house safe area at the orchard. Yesterday, we also caught Cupid and have brought her temporarily to LCA rescue shelter to keep her safe until the fencing at the orchard is complete.

LCA has been planning and coordinating directly with the orchard owner regarding both the dogs and the fencing project. He genuinely cares for his dogs, and we continue supporting him by helping provide food, care, and safety for them.

🙏 Thanks to everyone who has supported this project, we have now raised the funds needed for the fencing materials. The project is now in motion, but it will still take some time to complete.

As a faster urgent solution, the orchard owner and one of his workers started building a smaller fenced area this week adjoining the farm house to help keep the dogs safe in the meantime, after they had escaped from this temporary house where they were being contained.

This smaller fenced area will later connect to the larger fencing project we're building around part of the orchard property, which will provide a much safer long-term solution.

There are still 6 dogs (including Cupid) remaining at the orchard. Our goal is to give these dogs safety while still allowing them space to move, feel free, and stay protected.

🩺 𝗛𝘂𝗮 𝗞𝗵𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 🙏

Today was a very worrying day for us. Hua Kha was taken to CMU Veterinary Hospital (NOVEL) for a high-risk procedure to investigate the large mass inside her trachea (windpipe), which had been making us very concerned about her breathing and future prognosis.

The surgeons had serious concerns before surgery. The mass appeared very deep and in a difficult location, with very little space to safely access it. Because it sits so close to her airway, cutting into the mass to collect tissue samples for biopsy carried a high risk of bleeding. There was also concern about blood or fluid entering her airway and lungs, which could lead to breathing complications or aspiration pneumonia.

Their first plan was to attempt the least invasive approach by going down through her mouth and throat with a scope (bronchoscopy/tracheoscopy), rather than needing an external surgical incision into her neck.

Thankfully, we have much better news than we feared. 🙏

The surgeons were completely successful reaching the mass through her mouth and throat, so Hua Kha did not need any external surgery or neck incision. They were able to directly visualize the mass inside her trachea and successfully collect tissue samples for biopsy.

Even better, Hua Kha recovered fully from anesthesia, is resting comfortably, and currently has no signs of respiratory distress.

During the procedure, they found the mass had a nodular (bumpy) surface with multiple small pockets of purulent discharge (pus). While this can sometimes be suggestive of a tracheal parasite infection (Oslerus osleri), we do not yet know exactly what this mass is.

Samples have now been sent for:
🔬 Tissue biopsy / histopathology
🔬 Cytology
🦠 Bacterial culture
💩 F***l examination

These tests will help determine whether this is a parasite-related lesion, infection, severe inflammation, granuloma, or cancer.

So while today was a big win, we are still waiting for answers. Please continue praying for Hua Kha while we wait for her results and hope this is something treatable. 🙏

We also urgently need help with her medical costs. Her estimated bill is around 𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬–𝟭𝟮,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗯𝗮𝗵𝘁, which includes her procedure, diagnostics, and hospital admission for 3 days or more.

💔 More Poisonings 😥

We have some devastating news. More of the orchard dogs that LCA cares for have been poisoned.

We rushed poor Pixie to hospital on Monday after she was found at the orchard having seizures. She fought for her life over the past 2 days, but today she sadly lost her fight and passed away. 💔

We have traumatic videos of Pixie suffering severe seizures, but we will not share them. No one should have to witness an animal suffering like this. 😔

There are still 3 dogs missing, and we fear they may also have been poisoned. This was our worst fear.

We have been fundraising to build a fence on the property to help keep these dogs safe. In the meantime, they were being contained in a small farm house, but they managed to escape and were later seen hunting rabbits in the same area again.

We do not have proof of who is responsible, but we strongly suspect this was intentional. Poisoning is an incredibly cruel way for an animal to suffer and die, and this heartbreaking loss has deeply affected us all.

We are devastated. We have put so much time, care, and effort into helping these dogs and raising the puppies from the orchard.

There are still 6 dogs remaining at the orchard, and we urgently need to get this fence built as soon as possible to help prevent further tragedy.

Thank you to everyone who has donated towards this project so far. We now have things in motion, but it will take some time before it is fully completed.

Right now, we also urgently need help to pay Pixie’s hospital bill after trying everything we could to save her life these past two days. The total cost is 6,505 baht ($198 USD / 171 Euro).

🏥 Every week we’re busy with various veterinary appointments. Yesterday we had 4 dogs at NOVEL Hospital for their follow-up health checks.

🐾 𝗛𝗨𝗔 𝗞𝗛𝗔
Today they attempted a fine needle aspiration to collect tissue cells, but the mass is too deep in her trachea, making it difficult to get a sample. She is now scheduled early Thursday morning for a tracheoscopy and biopsy. She will need to stay in hospital for 2–3 days for close monitoring due to the high risk of bleeding and clots, or aspiration pneumonia after the procedure. It’s a difficult case, and the vet has consulted with several specialists. Once we know what type of cancer it is, we can plan treatment accordingly. Her bronchodilator medication has thankfully helped a lot with her breathing. Estimated cost for the procedure and hospital stay is around 12,000 baht.

🐾 𝗙𝗨𝗙𝗨
She had a blood test yesterday. Her vet was not there, so we are still waiting on results. She has been doing well since her blood transfusion a few days ago, eating fine and showing no concerning clinical signs.

🐾 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗬
We’ve been working on reducing Markey’s long-term medications for the past two months after his cardiologist confirmed he does not have heart disease. So far he has had no side effects, and his blood pressure, lungs, and temperature remain stable. He still gets an occasional cough related to his airways, which responds well to bronchodilator medication. He is now completely off two of his main medications. We will monitor him closely over the next 2 weeks before tapering his next medication.

🐾 𝗗𝗧𝗨𝗘𝗬
She is doing well. Her blood test showed her kidneys are back to normal, so she is no longer showing side effects from her oral chemotherapy medication. Her last x-rays also showed the mass had not progressed. She will continue on her current medications, and we make sure she gets at least 400 ml of water orally each day to support her kidneys. She’s such a little sweetheart. 💗

Tung Ting & Cinnamon were adopted today. What a wonderful way to start the week!

A huge thank you to Dylan for giving them a loving home together. 🏠💕

We’re especially thrilled that Cinnamon has finally found a home. He’s one of our most sociable shelter dogs, always giving the friendliest welcome to our team and visitors at LCA. We rescued Cinnamon and his siblings in September 2024 when they were only around 1 week old. He has grown into such a handsome boy.

Tung Ting is approximately 6-7 years old. She came to LCA as a puppy with her two siblings. Today was the very first time she has ever left our rescue shelter. We were so proud of how well she handled everything despite so many new experiences. We’re happy she has Cinnamon by her side and as a playmate, as they lived together at LCA and bonded well. Two dogs are always better than one! 🐶🐶

Thanks again to Dylan and family for taking the time to visit our shelter and connect with the dogs to find the right match. We wish them all a wonderful future together. 🙏💫

ส่วน ตุงติ๊ง อายุประมาณ 6-7 ปี เธอเข้ามาอยู่กับ LCA ตั้งแต่ยังเป็นลูกสุนัขพร้อมพี่น้องอีก 2 ตัว วันนี้เป็นครั้งแรกในชีวิตที่เธอได้ออกจากศูนย์ช่วยเหลือของเรา พวกเราภูมิใจมากที่เธอปรับตัวได้ดีแม้ทุกอย่างจะเป็นประสบการณ์ใหม่ทั้งหมด ดีใจที่เธอมีซินนามอนอยู่ข้าง ๆ เป็นเพื่อนเล่นและเพื่อนคู่ใจ เพราะทั้งคู่เคยอยู่ด้วยกันที่ LCA และสนิทกันมาก สองตัวดีกว่าหนึ่งเสมอ 🐶🐶

🙌 𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗼 & 𝗪𝘂𝗮 - 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 ✅️

The two temple mamas, Kaao and Wua, successfully underwent their spay surgeries yesterday. 💛

Both girls are now recovering safely with us at LCA rescue shelter and are doing well so far. We will continue monitoring and caring for them over the next few days while they heal.

Once their sutures are removed in around 5 days, they will return back to the temple. 🐾

The remaining puppies from the temple who have not yet been adopted will also need to be sterilised in around one month once they are old enough. Preventing more unwanted litters is such an important part of reducing suffering and breaking the cycle.

🙌 อัปเดตการทำหมัน ข้าว & งัว 🙌

สองแม่หมาวัด ข้าว และ งัว ได้เข้ารับการผ่าตัดทำหมันเรียบร้อยแล้วเมื่อวานนี้ 💛

ตอนนี้ทั้งสองตัวกำลังพักฟื้นอย่างปลอดภัยอยู่กับเราที่ศูนย์ช่วยเหลือสัตว์ LCA และอาการโดยรวมเป็นไปด้วยดี เราจะดูแลและติดตามอาการของพวกเธอต่อไปในช่วงพักฟื้นนี้

หลังตัดไหมในอีกประมาณ 5 วัน เราจะพาพวกเธอกลับไปที่วัด 🐾

ส่วนลูกสุนัขที่ยังไม่ได้บ้านจากวัด กลุ่มที่เหลือก็จะต้องเข้ารับการทำหมันเช่นกันในอีกประมาณ 1 เดือนข้างหน้า เมื่ออายุถึงเกณฑ์ที่เหมาะสม การป้องกันไม่ให้เกิดลูกสุนัขเพิ่มขึ้น เป็นส่วนสำคัญอย่างมากในการช่วยลดความทุกข์ทรมานและหยุดวงจรนี้
