Last week we had to say goodbye to our oldest boy, the most gentle, sweet grandpa Giacomo.🌈 While this is such a sad news for us all, we want this post to be a celebration of his life and memories after being rescued.
We found Giacomo exactly a year ago. With severely broken leg that was dangling, this soldier kept walking through traffic and crossing the road back and forth. Being a Bangkew mix, people were scared to approach him but he was nothing but a big teddy bear. We just scooped him up, put him in the car and he knew he is safe.
After a successful surgery to repair his leg, it was like Giacomo got a new lease on life. He became so young, playful, full of energy and even had a tiny girlfriend 😆 The truth is, he was some 1000+ years old but he did not agree with that estimation. He demanded his daily walks to be on time and if you were late, he would run up the stairs to the second floor bedroom and communicate verbally to say “It’s walkie time!”.
Giacomo was a good boy! He loved all people and all dogs but he could hold a grudge if some dog did not treat him well 😆 He would forgive but not forget😆
He was one of the lucky ones, thanks to his foster family who made sure he had the best of everything for whatever time he had left with us. His kidney disease was progressing but he did not spend a day at the hospital as they managed everything from home. Daily fluids , medication, special food. We would like to send a very special thank you to Camille and her family for their dedication and love❤️ We know he will be terribly missed.
We take so much comfort knowing he had a full, happy, spoiled life. We always remind ourselves that dogs interpret time differently and for him, this 1 year felt much much longer❤️🌈

เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา พวกเราต้องบอกลาคุณตาที่อายุมากที่สุดของเรา “Giacomo” เด็กชายที่อ่อนโยน สุภาพ และแสนหวานที่สุดของเรา🌈 แม้ว่านี่จะเป็นข่าวที่น่าเศร้าสำหรับทุกคน แต่เราอยากให้โพสต์นี้เป็นการเฉลิมฉลองชีวิตและความทรงจำอันงดงามของเขาหลังจากที่ได้รับการช่วยเหลือ
เราเจอ Giacomo เมื่อหนึ่งปีก่อนพอดี ขาของเขาหักอย่างรุนแรงจนห้อยอยู่ แต่เจ้าทหารผู้กล้าตัวนี้ก็ยังเดินลุยการจราจรและข้ามถนนไปมาซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า เนื่องจากเขาเป็นสุนัขพันธุ์ผสมบางแก้ว ผู้คนจึงไม่กล้าเข้าใกล้ แต่ความจริงแล้วเขาเป็นเพียงเจ้าหมีตัวใหญ่ใจดี เราเพียงอุ้มเขาขึ้นรถ และเขาก็รู้ทันทีว่าตัวเองปลอดภัยแล้ว
หลังจากการผ่าตัดซ่อมขาที่ประสบความสำเร็จ เหมือนกับว่า Giacomo ได้เริ่มต้นชีวิตใหม่ เขากลับมาสดใสเหมือนเด็กอีกครั้ง ขี้เล่น เต็มไปด้วยพลัง และยังมีแฟนสาวตัวน้อยอีกด้วย😆 ความจริงแล้วเขาน่าจะอายุประมาณ 1,000 กว่าปี แต่เขาไม่เคยยอมรับตัวเลขนั้นเลย เขาจะเรียกร้องให้ได้ออกไปเดินทุกวันตรงเวลา และถ้าคุณช้า เขาจะวิ่งขึ้นบันไดไปถึงห้องนอนชั้นสอง แล้วส่งเสียงบอกว่า “ถึงเวลาไปเดินแล้ว!”
Giacomo เป็นเด็กดีมาก เขารักทุกคนและรักสุนัขทุกตัว แต่ถ้ามีสุนัขตัวไหนปฏิบัติกับเขาไม่ดี เขาก็แอบงอนเป็นเหมือนกัน😆 เขาให้อภัยได้ แต่ไม่มีวันลืม😆
เขาเป็นหนึ่งในสุนัขที่โชคดี เพราะมีครอบครัวอุปถัมภ์ที่คอยมอบสิ่งที่ดีที่สุดให้กับเขาตลอดเวลาที่เหลืออยู่กับเรา แม้โรคไตของเขาจะค่อย ๆ แย่ลง แต่เขาไม่ต้องนอนโรงพยาบาลแม้แต่วันเดียว เพราะทุกคนช่วยกันดูแลเขาที่บ้าน ทั้งให้น้ำเกลือทุกวัน ให้ยา และจัดอาหารพิเศษให้ เราขอขอบคุณ Camille และครอบครัวของเธอจากใจจริง สำหรับความทุ่มเทและความรักที่มอบให้ Giacomo ❤️ เรารู้ว่าเขาจะเป็นที่คิดถึงของทุกคนอย่างมาก
สิ่งที่ทำให้เราสบายใจที่สุด คือการรู้ว่าเขาได้ใช้ชีวิตอย่างเต็มที่ มีความสุข และได้รับการตามใจอย่างที่สุด เรามักเตือนตัวเองเสมอว่าสุนัขรับรู้เรื่องเวลาแตกต่างจากเรา และสำหรับ Giacomo แล้ว หนึ่งปีที่ผ่านมา คงรู้สึกยาวนานกว่านั้นมาก❤️🌈
