Hey Mommy and Daddy, let me tell you about my fantastic holiday getaway!

I had a wonderful time with my Nanny and her family, including their pooch Bella Rose.

We laughed and we played, and we enjoyed the long summer days...running free in their big, fenced-in yard.

I had a good appetite and I slept well. I took my medication and everything was fine. I didn't have a care in the world.

When it came time--after 3 full weeks--to say goodbye to them, sweet Bella Rose whimpered. I was just as sad.

So, enough about me. How are you guys? Did you go anywhere or something?

I was just too busy myself and really haven't thought about it until now. 🤔🤗🤣

Their suitcases are 3/4 full when leaving, and 4/4 full when returning.

They don't buy kitschy souvenirs...although Daddy did buy two (big and heavy) art books.

Rather, they buy specialty foods and drinks as gifts to share with friends.

Like this decadent Portuguese sponge cake with a deliciously chocolatey frosting.

Which Daddy shared with no one.

After being abroad for a few weeks, this is Daddy's first meal back home.

Harold's 6 piece fried chicken with salt, pepper and a mix of mild and hot sauce.

This is new. Fitted, semi-cushioned, quilted sheets to cover the lie-flat seats to give it more of a mattress / bed feel.

(Bed not yet fully reclined... otherwise Daddy would have a hard time getting in and out.) 😏

Ok, so that was one of the most delicious things Daddy has eaten on American Airlines.

Traditional ice cream sundae: vanilla ice cream, chopped pecans, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, berry ragout, whipped cream.

He actually finished the whole thing. Which is a bit unusual. He typically orders for variety and to have a taste, but usually can't finish everything.

The last time he had a great meal with this airline carrier was Chicago to Miami, first class, in 2013. And it was a simple cheeseburger.

For Daddy, it doesn't have to be fancy. It just has to be good.

And, yes, Daddy remembers. And he keeps logs of his meals. 😳
