______
> So,
Another street dog laying outside the restaurant in the morning ( just like our “daughter” Foxy did almost exactly 1 year ago..),,
We found Lucky by the trash can,,looks like she might have escaped a plastic bag thrown there..so someone might actually just have thrown her as garbage, still alive...
Looked like she was on her last breaths,,no power to fight back any other dogs standing around her barking,,she was just laying with her paws over the eyes, crying quietly, begging for mercy..
No normal human with some sense of sympathy would have just left her there.
So, we took her behind the restaurant, tried to give her some milk and dog food,, she barely licked the milk and showed no interest in the food. After some attempts we finally got some water in her mouth that she seemed to swallow,,then we gave her a cool shower with water..
5 min in to the shower she was starting waving her tail, just a little,
and life literally came back into her eyes..
We showered her with dog shampoo at least 3 times,,got as many ticks and bugs of her as possible ,without shaving her... gave her medicine for her hundreds of ticks..some coconut oil on the wounds and tried to clean her up and give her comfort as best as we could at the moment.
She is now , (evening day one) eating, and drinking nicely! We were afraid she didn’t had anything to eat in days, thou she is very skinny, and would have problems if we gave her to much at once,, so we now try to give small portions of light meals with a steady rhythm .
She seems very lovely and We are sure she will make it, and be a beautiful best friend , for Someone.( Just like our own “daughter” Foxy, who have a very similar story.)
Fact is, we would love to keep her, but we just don’t have the time, economy or space for another member in our family right now....
We wanted to take her to the local vet just over over the street,, but after we visited to ask for advice,, without saying to much, We decided that we will take her to another vet clinic.
We Will now try take her to the vet and animal hospital in Phangnga as soon as possible. (where we feel like they have a high standard and good experience in animal care..)
You are very welcome to donate some Baht to help “Lucky” recover as fast and comfortable as possible.
As said, Our plan is to take her to Phangnga vet and animal hospital, to give her a complete health check and get the right medicines for her skin, and what else might be needed..
( We know that many people are interested in helping stray dogs in the area, and we have future plans to put together some kind of organization with a donation fund and a crew to do that, but let’s focus on Lucky for now )
