Both animal lovers, they already brought with them two animals they had previously rescued from Koh Samui. Very soon other animals arrived, and one by one we grew to a population of 15 dogs and 8 cats. We hav

e had to put a cap on this now, due to the massive expense of helping these lovely animals, and the ad hoc emergency cases we take on. As our customers in turn fell in love with our animals, we started to receive donations to help us with medical and food bills. All dogs have a story, and each story is written in the photo album here on this page, many have come back from near death, and most recently Luck has been diagnosed with kidney disease stage 4. When funds allow us, we also help our neighbouring animals, other street animals or friends animals who also struggle to care for their animals, the main priority always being steralisation for females and monthly injections to prevent ticks and heartworm, which then avoids a whole host of potential illnesses as well as 6 monthly deworming. I'm gonna be honest.. it's pretty darn exhausting looking after Somwang at the moment, he's gone from ravenous to hardly eating, we have to coax him with hand feeding and then biting any dog near him while he paces, poor BlindBoy is traumatized from a snap at his nose.

Somwang is either KO sleeping or pacing aggressively snapping at anyone (dogs not us thankfully) who dares to get in his way 🙄 😭

Dementia truly sucks, our beloved dog is long gone, I'm not sure who this is but we keep going for now not knowing how this will end.

15yr old Somwang had the time of his life this evening... 💙🐾💙🤣 found himself a lady!

Took Yelly and Somwang out for a coffee, Yelly sits shivering under the table while Somwang says 'ello ello' to a pretty lady who then proceeds to take selfies, well her daughter took them for her; so I suggested Somwang matches your outfit and would make a great model... 🤣🤣💙🐾💙🤣🤣

Thanks to you amazing animal lovers for donations I'm taking Somwang, Bella and MotDaeng to see kidney specialist Dr Ni at Kasetsart University - I never dare hope for better but stable would be good...

Phosphorusand BUN levels need to be checked most importantly in case I need to make dietary changes.

Last time Somwang and Bella were bad but MotDaeng kidneys at least were stable.

MotDaeng can barely walk so hoping vet can help with stronger painkillers if kidneys will withstand them.

Life on Market and MotDaeng Rollercoaster 🎢 continues...

Having started him on Gabapentin he becomes very glum... hereby renamed Glumbapentin... 😥 BUT it does seem to ease his pain albeit gives him mild ataxia ie muscle weakness.

Last night I therefore didn't give him the medicine and this morning he was flying around, more cheerful again. I will have to keep playing with giving it to him when the pain becomes too intense and stopping when it affects his mood too much.

Finding the balance between pain and peace and comfort and quality of life is key with these previous seniors.

For MotDaeng however it sucks... he can barely walk due to pain but then also ataxia ie muscle weakness which makes any standing up even harder. He is eating well but I am concerned how he will manage to pass stools if he can't hold himself up anymore. I saw him p*e this morning but haven't seen him poo in quite a few days and although its possible I missed it as he is shy about that it is still something I am keeping a close eye on and need to take him back to vet for more consultation and check kidneys to see if improved we can give him other painkillers or if there really is a nerve sheet tumur growing in his thigh.

Such a Handsome, Happy, Playful boy these days... its amazing to see the physical and emotional change in Beebo 💙

Still a little way to go before the Thyroid medicine balance his levels perfectly but to go from sleeping all day and practically no hair to this is a HUGE improvement!! And whilst his kidneys seem to be massively improved I will continue to monitor this very closely, diet included as we Do Not want a relapse!!

📌 Update on Blacky #3 visit

✅ powder applied to foot and about 20+ maggots got their marching orders! 🤢🤮

💦 sorted out fresh water supply for dogs as it wasn’t adequate

🦟 ❌ put at end to the mosquito breeding bath 🛁 man advised to change water daily not every two weeks.

🏥 tomorrow go check on him again, tend to foot wound again

💗 He’s looking strong and well fed, few skin problems and hair loss but no ticks or fleas so I feel his immune system is up for healing!

💗 his lovely human guardian Rick from Holland donated 500 THB for meds and gave me some beef goulash and mushroom soup to try!! Very happy rescuer as it’s well known I don’t eat enough food donations are much appreciated 😂

** Update on Pancake **

Her owners are back and so now feeding and medicating her themselves.

She’s walking much better now, nearly normal 💗 will continue with doxy for the full month before booking in for steralisation.

I was kindly gifted some traditional Thai biscuits as a thank you for caring for her for them ❤️🙏

Then... Pancake has a new friend!!! The eldest boy has fished one of the puppies is noticed and recently posted about, out of the jungle.... “It was easy...” God I wish it was that easy to catch them when they’re older to be steralised!!..

Anyway I was somewhat shocked but then realized it’s a good chance for little puppy... albeit a little young to be away from Mum at least he’ll avoid the hazards of life on the street!

First question on their lips was rabies vaccine... having looked at little baby his gums are pale which indicate blood parasites so initially we’ll de-worm him and slowly build his strength up before starting vaccines; keeping a very careful eye out for signs of parvovirus which is oh so very very common when plucking these babes from their mums in the jungle 🐶💗
