How time flies! Join us in celebrating our FIVE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
Five years ago, what is now the Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary was nothing more than an abandoned, crumbling boat yard - silent for nearly a decade, with leaking roofs, broken structures, and no sign of life.
Today it is something completely different: a place of safety, healing, and second chances for animals who had nowhere else to go.
Together - with people like you - we built this sanctuary and clinic from scratch.
We created a treatment room for emergencies. A kitchen to prepare food for hungry dogs and cats. Shade where there had been none. Air-conditioned recovery spaces for sick animals and exhausted volunteers.
Piece by piece, compassion turned ruins into refuge.
And what our supporters have helped achieve in just five years is extraordinary:
- Almost 13,000 sterilizations preventing untold suffering
- Dozens of spay/neuter camps in remote communities with no veterinary care
- Rabies vaccination outreach protecting animals and people
- Thousands of animals treated through our clinic
- Daily food for street animals who would otherwise go hungry
Dogs and cats have found forever families as far away as Canada, France, and the UK.
Nearly 300 volunteers from around the world have walked through our gates, bringing compassion and hope. Along the way we even celebrated human milestones - an engagement, a wedding, and the birth of a baby girl.
This sanctuary has become more than a refuge for animals.
It is a community built on kindness.
Not every story has had a happy ending. We have mourned seven beloved residents whose time with us was too short. But they were not alone. They were loved. And that love existed because of you.
Today, our dogs and cats call the sanctuary home while they wait for their forever families. And every day, more animals in crisis still need help.

Five years ago, the Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary didn’t exist.
The land was an abandoned, crumbling boat yard - silent for nearly a decade. The roofs leaked. Buildings were broken. There was no life there at all.
Today, it is something completely different.
It is a place of safety, healing, and second chances for animals who had nowhere else to go.
Together - with compassionate supporters like you - we transformed those ruins into a sanctuary and clinic from the ground up.
Roofs were repaired. A treatment room was built so injured animals could receive care. A kitchen was created so volunteers could prepare food for hungry dogs and cats. Shade structures now protect animals from the tropical heat. Air conditioning helps sick animals recover.
Piece by piece, compassion turned ruins into refuge.
In just five years, something extraordinary has happened:
- 12,700+ sterilizations preventing countless unwanted litters and suffering
- 40 spay camps bringing veterinary care to remote communities
- Rabies vaccination programs protecting animals and people
- Thousands of emergency and walk-in patients treated
- Countless meals for sanctuary animals and street dogs who would otherwise go hungry
Lives have been saved.
Families have been formed.
Dogs and cats from this small sanctuary in Thailand have even found loving homes as far away as Canada, France, and the UK.
