When we first found sweet Coco, she was lying alone on the roadside—emaciated, terrified, and critically injured after being hit by a car. 🥺💔

Our team immediately stepped in to provide emergency first aid and intensive medical treatment, welcoming her into our sanctuary family. In the beginning, trauma held her back; she was so scared that we couldn’t even gently touch or play with her.

With time, patience, and boundless love, something miraculous happened. Day by day, Coco learned to trust humans again. Today, she is completely healthy, full of life, and the biggest sweetheart who loves giving cuddles and wagging her tail! 🐕✨

Continuing Love & Care: Helping Dogs Whose Owner Passed Away 🐾🕊️❤️

When a pet owner passes away, the animals left behind often face uncertain and vulnerable futures. 🥺💔

Recently, the team at Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary (SAS) received an urgent call from caring neighbors in our community. A local owner had recently passed away, leaving behind a group of beloved dogs who now have no one to fully look after them. To prevent more homeless puppies from being born and to keep these sweet dogs safe and healthy, the neighbors reached out to ask for our assistance.

Our team stepped in right away to bring them to our clinic for vital spay and neuter surgeries, health checks, and essential core vaccinations. Once they have fully recovered, they will be returned to their familiar home territory where the kind neighbors will continue to look after and feed them. 🏡✨

This is why our community outreach and free spay/neuter missions are so crucial—ensuring that even in times of loss, these loyal animals are never left behind or forgotten.

There are some stories that remind us exactly why we do this work. Somjud’s is one of them.

She was the gentle little, orange-spotted street dog outside the local 7-Eleven in Sangkhlaburi - surviving on scraps and kindness from strangers. We spayed her at our free clinic and returned her to the only home she knew.

Then tragedy struck.

One day, while sleeping beside the road, Somjud was hit by a passing car. Her injuries were devastating, and despite every effort, one of her legs could not be saved.

But her story didn’t end there.

During her recovery, two volunteers from England, Megan and Owen, fell completely in love with her. What began as affection quickly became family.

Months later, Somjud made the incredible journey from remote western Thailand to her forever home in Brighton, England - an 8-hour drive to Bangkok, a long international flight, and finally home to the people who adored her from the very beginning.

Today, the little street dog who once slept beside a convenience store now sleeps safely in bed with her family and walks on the beaches of England.

THIS is what we do. THIS is what your support makes possible.

But he didn't come with just one pet—nestled cozy and calm inside a wearable baby sling on his chest was his other furry companion, who didn't even need any medical checkup! 🥺🧺✨

When our team asked about his little passenger, he smiled and told us: "We love each other so much that we can never be apart. Wherever I go, they go."

Moments like this are a common, heartwarming sight across the remote town of Sangkhlaburi. Despite having limited resources and living far from city veterinary hospitals, the deep bond and unconditional love people here share with their animals is profoundly pure. And this beautiful connection is one of the biggest reasons why we remain wholeheartedly committed to our daily mission.
