What are your donations used for?

We see every single donation, and it truly makes a difference. Without this support, the organization simply couldn’t run. Here’s why:

• Neutering: This has the biggest impact on controlling the stray population. Our partner vets offer reduced prices, but there are still costs to cover. Every neutering we carry out is only possible thanks to your donations.

• Veterinary care: Adoption fees are fixed depending on the dog (age, s*x, whether they are neutered or not). When a dog needs additional or unexpected medical care, these costs are not covered by the adoption fee, this is where your donations are essential.

• Special cases: Sometimes, dogs in very poor health or fragile mental states (like Sirius) are placed as “zero-fee” dogs to ensure they can be adopted quickly into the right family instead of staying in a shelter. These cases often require ongoing and expensive care, fully supported by donations.

Your support directly allows us to keep helping these dogs. 🐾

Sirius for adoption 🌠

Male | pitbull crossbreed | 6 years old | 13kg | free of parasites | not yet castrated or vaccinated

Sirius is a small dog who is looking for a forever home. Due to his medical condition, we don't know yet his full personality, although he seems to have quite a strong one. What we know is that he loves the cuddles, a comfortable bed to sleep and the food 🤪. He is able to take really short walk but will probably be more energetic once recovered. He’s struggling with anxiety at home, but we’re working on it and seeing improvements, as well as with potty training.

The story of Sirius 🌠
*Warning* | We are currently looking for a shelter place for Sirius to secure him, but we can avoid this step if someone is interested in adopting him quickly. | *Warning*

Sirius has been found outside by vet students in bad condition. He showed locomotor disorders and was dehydrated.

After a full vet check, Sirius was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and a vestibular syndrome, likely caused by an ear infection. He has been rehydrated and is now receiving treatment.

We didn’t plan on long-term care, especially with the school year ending soon, so there is a possibility for Sirius to be transfered to a shelter if we don't find an adopter. However, we are taking care of him during his recovery, and if someone comes forward quickly, we could avoid that step.

His medical care is currently covered, but his condition and future needs are still uncertain even if we already see improvement. It’s important to be aware of that.

Last weekend we went back to this neighborhood to feed the dogs 🐶

We saw some of the familiar faces again, still waiting for food. But there were also many new puppies this time… and sadly many pregnant females. Some dogs were extremely thin and clearly struggling.

We wish we could help them all. The reality is hard, and sometimes all we can do is give them food and a little kindness ❤️‍🩹

We’re doing our best, but situations like this remind us how difficult the reality is for so many stray dogs. Still, every meal matters, and every small action counts 🐾

Adoption news! 🧸

You’ve probably seen it, if Sido recently went on such a long journey, first by train and then by car, it was to join her new family. A huge thank you to them for their trust.

She has now arrived in the Czech Republic to start her new life. 🤍

✨ Adoption News ✨

The big day has finally arrived for Mira! 🥹
With us since October, this shy and reserved little girl has come a long way. At first, she was shy and clung closely to her first foster family, but she’s transformed into a real ray of sunshine, full of life and joy.

She’ll now enjoy the best days of her life with a wonderful young couple here in Košice. And the icing on the cake: her new mom is a vet student… Mira is in very good hands! 🩺❤️

Behind every rescue story, there’s a small team working quietly in the background.

PawsRescueKE first began with Norwegian veterinary students who were deeply moved by the number of homeless dogs in eastern Slovakia. After rescuing their first dog, what started as a small act of kindness quickly grew into something much bigger.

With the goal of creating long-term change, they founded PawsRescueKE and focused strongly on prevention through sterilization campaigns.

In 2025, we, four French veterinary students studying in Košice, continued the work they started.

Today, together with a dedicated group of volunteers, we’re doing our best to give these dogs a better future.

Playful, fearless, and full of life, she’ll make sure your days are never boring.
Only 8 months old, she’s expected to reach around 20 kg as an adult.

Sido has found a reservation for her future home, but you can still contact us if you’re interested in her.

She has been waiting since September…

This is Mira. 🐕
She already had three foster families, but somehow she’s still waiting for someone to finally choose her.

Three times she thought she found her home. Three times she had to start over.

And yet, she still wags her tail.
She still hopes that the next person who walks through the door will be her person.
