Duckmoors Golden retrievers

Duckmoors Golden retrievers “Duckmoors” is a small family kennel, established in 2008, with a big love for the Golden retrievers. We breed "the working line" golden retrievers.

These dogs need to do more than just to be a family dogs and everyday companions. However, they are lovely family dogs, if they get the exercise (head-wise) that they need. The future owners of our puppy should know the needs of working golden retrievers. If you are a hunter, you do or want to compete in dummy sports (regular training and tests), mantrailing, agility, train rescue dogs or you want

to do any activity that will occupy their head .. than contact us! If you are looking for a companion for long walks, you would like to have an active dog as you are an active family, if you are looking for a therapy dog, you are looking dog for your children, you have a big garden, you like just being outside or if you find "the working line" just prettier than "show line", please, contact the breeder who breeds "the show line". We recommend those interested in a puppy from our kennel to send an e-mail with preliminary interest and your idea of a puppy in advance. We are happy if those interested in a puppy introduce themselves first, so that we know the environment in which the puppy will grow up. We prefer communication by email as the first contact. We choose the new owners of our puppies very carefully. Puppies will only be placed in families that will guarantee their further high-quality, fulfilling and happy life. Puppies from us have the predispositions to be used at work, so we place our puppies preferably in working homes. However, competitions are not a condition, for us the most important thing is that our puppies have the best possible time in their new homes, that they are given enough attention and socialization, "brain-stimulation" and that their new owners love them as much as we do throughout their lives.

What an incredible weekend at the Working Test in the beautiful pheasantry of Menin!
We’re beyond proud of the results of Duckmoors' dogs achieved:

Duckmoors Autumn Tumble "Tango" with Anna had a phenomenal run!

On Saturday, they started strong in M class with two 20s, but unfortunately picked up a zero on one of the exercises. However, they didn’t let that bring them down. On Sunday, facing much tougher tasks, they came back stronger and won the M class 🥇 with an excellent score of 76/80 (20/17/19/20)!

And that’s not all -- In a last-minute decision, they entered the Open class as well, and what a debut it was! - 3rd place 🥉 with an impressive 74/80 (20/18/20/16), also marked as excellent.
Huge congratulations to Anna & Tango! 💪🏆

Duckmoors Call Me Neema ran in E class and finished 6th with 67/80 (very good - 16/20/12/19).
A solid performance, though one task cost us some valuable points – we’ll be sharper next time!

Duckmoors Dreamcatcher "Toby" unfortunately got one silly zero this time — but that’s how the game goes. He’ll be back stronger!

A special shout-out to Watchful Eye Golden Gaj "Haker", Tango’s son (Toffee's grandson), who placed 3rd in M class on Saturday with 72/80 points (17/15/20/20). Congratulations to his team – we're so proud to see Tango's legacy shining through!

All in all, a weekend full of learning, progress, and joy. Congratulations to everyone who participated and thank you to the organizers and judges for a great event!

After some recent bad luck at our last working test (one silly zero), this weekend brought a bit more luck and better results!
Another long trip behind us, but so worth it.
At the Working Test in Melník/CZ, organized by Retriever Sport CZ and judged by Ian Lohoar and Graham Wilson (UK), in the E class with 27 starters:

Duckmoors Call Me Neema “Neema”
(FTW Loveloch Valentino x Kaliture Toffee Crisp)
1st place excellent 20/20/20/18 (lost 2 points because I was “sleeping” and didn’t use the whistle at the right time — sorry, Neema!)

Duckmoors Dreamcatcher “Toby”
(Moscargrange Dappa x Duckmoors All That Jazz)
2nd place excellent - just 1 point behind Neema!
Congratulations Eva & Toby! Hard work really pays off!

In the afternoon, after a very long wait for the V class (unfortunately we couldn’t leave the seniors in the car to rest because it was too hot), they had to spend hours waiting for their class, staying on the leash and walking around with the youngsters.
This completely drained Finn, and he sadly finished with one zero. Anyway, with our veterans, it’s all about giving them a good time and letting them feel they are still important to us.

On the end, only one veteran survived:

Kaliture Toffee Crisp (Neema’s mom and Toby’s grandma)

1st place – not high scores, but she gave it her all, pity making blinds from marks , but being handled with enthusiasm! She refused to give up, especially on the last test.
Thank you to the organizers for nice event and judges for the nice exercises, fair but strict judging.
Special thanks to my daughter who stayed at home and took care of the rest of the dogs, so I was able to travel for extra days!

Another adventure and memories to treasure!

Just a few weeks ago, I stood by Finn’s side and promised him, “If you win this fight, you can retrieve as much as you want and do whatever makes you happy.” And here we are. Against all odds, Finn’s spirit never wavered, and now he’s back out in the field, loving every moment of what he does best. 💪🐾

The recent fight for his life may have added a few more white hairs to his face, but honestly, who cares? That determined sparkle in his eyes is all that matters. ✨

Finn’s journey to full recovery continues - his weight is slowly coming back, and his energy levels are on the rise. The past few sunny days were a joy to watch him back in action, doing what he was born to do. Every day with him out there feels like a little victory. 🌞

Sometimes, we just need to take a break, go for a walk with friends, and enjoy the moment. This time, I happened to bring the camera along! 🌲
A walk with seven goldies - 3 boys and 4 girls - through the our sandy woods and a refreshing dip in the lake (even though it's already a bit chilly) was the perfect recipe for fun and, of course, a few wet socks! 😆🐾
Toffee, Neema, Jazzie, Frieda * Tommy, Toby, Casper on the pictures and some humans behind the pictures ;)

🐾 Planned litter at Duckmoors! 🐾
We are happy to announce our upcoming litter from two exceptional goldies! Jazzie is now in season, with mating planned in the middle of November. Hopefully the puppies will arrive mid-January 2025 with both parents possessing open-minded character, the drive, calmness, and steady temperament essential for active working homes.

The pedigree of this litter combines proven, talented lines, full of golden retrievers with a natural will to work and a balanced temperament. These puppies will hopefully inherit the best from both parents. Ideal for working homes, these puppies will be more than companions – they’re bred to excel in the field while being wonderful family members.

Just when we thought Cita’s test season was over, she and her owner took on one last challenge for 2024! Competing in the FCI IPO Fläche A test on Saturday, which she passed successfully 👏

Cita’s confidence continues to grow, especially in obedience, where she performed beautifully. A fantastic close to a year full of dedication and achievements for Cita and Waltraud. Congratulations to this remarkable team! 🫶🍀♥️

Excited to share some great moments from our October duck hunts! 🦆 We had a full pack this year, and I’m especially happy that Finn could join us for at least the first ones. 💪
The Duckmoors team in action included Finn, Toffee, Jazzie, Tommy, and our youngest star, Neema, who had her first duck retrieves. Very pleased with this little girl – she surprised me with her calm head and focus during the picking-up days. 😊

Check out the album for some highlights of this season so far! 😉

Duckmoors Golden retrievers

“Duckmoors” is a small family kennel, established in 2008, with a big love for Golden retrievers. We are based in Western Slovakia on the borders with Austria and Czechia. We have litters only occasionally when we want to hold a puppy to continue the line. Being a family kennel, our dogs are and will be a part of our family and our puppies will be born in our house and live together with the rest of the family. Our dogs' health is very important for us and therefore we have them examined before we choose to breed. No dog is perfect, but we think as a breeder is important to know the weaknesses of a bitch and try to compensate them when finding the right stud dog.

We are enjoying our picking-up days and compete with our dogs on working tests, but as first they are much loved family members.
