Goodbye, Labbit

You’ve been a wonderful pet—my very first—for 13 unforgettable years. I watched you grow from a playful little Netherland Dwarf into a spirited teenager, and even into an unexpected daddy of five.

We’ve been through so much together. From teary ducts to GI issues, I spent so much time and money at the vet, but I never once complained—because you were worth every bit of it.

If I had a magic pill, I’d choose you again in a heartbeat.

Now, go binky over the Rainbow Bridge, free and happy. Reunite with the rest, and know that I’ll always carry you in my heart. Please come visit me in my dreams from time to time.

Thank you for being part of my life, Labbit. I’ll miss you dearly.

Happy birthday Labbit . 30-07-2025. You are 13yo today, human age 93 years old. I hope you are hopping carefreely over the 🌈 bridge. Have you met Furby 🐰 and your family?

Throwback to 12-07-2025. We made the hardest decision to bring Labbit to the vet to euthanise him. He was so weak, he fell and couldn’t stand up by his own. Looking and hearing him struggling broke my heart 💔. He still continued eating, nibbling on his favourite rolled oats and pellets slowly.

The vet diagnosed Labbit was having cancer, he was in severe pain but he hang on cos it is their natural instinct to remain strong (being a prey in the wild). To prevent the worst to happen, that will cause even more trauma to Labbit, we proceeded with GA first. Labbit’s vet is the kindest. GA to put Labbit to sleep first, with no pain and no struggling.

Silly Labbit, he got confused why he got drowsy and felt sleepy. The moment, the last moment, he slept soundly in my arms while I could still feel his warmth and heartbeat.

11.07.2025 - we celebrated Labbit’s 13th birthday two weeks earlier . Labbit’s actual birthday is 30 July 2012. Because he is getting weaker each day gradually. He is eating but his quality of life Is deteriorating. He is hanging on to celebrate his birthday 🎂. We all knew it.

Happiest 13th birthday Labbit. You are 93years old in human years. We love you 🙆‍♀️ 🥰
