From the moment I ordered products this time chilldust from USA, exorbitant costs on both sides set in. Shipping fees, arrival fees, taxes, handling fees, truck fees, transportation ….. really so many costs adding to few thousands just for 90 bags of “dusty treasure”. Some came torn so can’t be sold too! Some were discarded before leaving USA due to damage. Really hard to catch “dust”! 🤪 No wonder businesses go bust when locals do not support local. I am also shocked by the inevitable rising charges each time I import. This is my fourth tonne of dust that only chinchilla owners love. Truly authentic and safe❤️

Someone went for a routine vet check. His owner says he has a clean bill of health. At home he is begging to play with another chinchilla 🤪❤️

Updates of my chinchillas sold to earnest owners who will share milestones and cute antics. These updates can come to me on my off day, mornings or even 24/7🐾🐾🐾 There is indeed no off day caring for our pets unless someone looks at them ❤️

Today we had to turn a family away — and I don’t feel bad about it.

Not every customer is a good customer, and not every prospective adopter is a good family. I give people a lot of chances to be clear, and sometimes they just tell on themselves.

This family came in, saw our chinchillas, and said, “They must breed fast!” I corrected them: they don’t. Breeding may start fast, but it’s a slow process — 110-day pregnancy, small litters, plus nursing time.

They nodded, wandered, then circled back — someone else pointed out we had both males and females. Another mentioned how their cousin or friend “really wanted a baby.”

I repeated why breeding rescue animals is irresponsible. They insisted they wouldn’t. Sure. 🤨

Then I asked:

Do you have supplies? ❌

A cage? ❌

What they did show me: a broken bird cage, a dirty dog crate, and a stock wire cage with 3" spacing.

At that point, I said no.

I speak to every chinchilla adopter. I can’t catch everyone, but some red flags are obvious...

We can’t stop backyard breeders or negligent owners entirely. But we can try to make sure it’s not one of our animals. If they’re determined to mistreat an animal, they’ll have to lie to a pet store or breeder.

We won’t make it cheap or easy.

He reminds me of chinzilla in this pic which owner sent! 🤣 He was the second youngest import born in Oct 2024 from Royal Chinchillas! He is currently 540g!

1 tonne of chilldust just arrived at my shop. Will last probably for a year before my next order.
This authentic chilldust from Hess Pumice is best for chinchillas’ dust baths. Used by professionals. Cleans dirt, dead fur and oils. Twice weekly is good enough. Imported directly from Hess Pumice Idaho USA. Very affordable and more economical than buying prepacked ones which I imported previously. ❤️ Other retailers will get it at cost from me. 🌹

I paired these two females when they arrived for their first boarding at my shop. Never met them. Owner sought my help. Paired them as apparently they would fight at home and thus they lived in different cages. They are actually mum and daughter. Now all is smooth sailing and they even rest butt to butt😊
