We also want to encourage people to support animal shelters in Singapore. These shelters care for abandoned or community cats and dogs. Without these organisations, many of these animals might be abused or even put to sleep. You can support the shelters by donating food and medicines. This is Hope (L) and Bean Bean (R).
Bean Bean is the youngest girl in the Gold-D Eunos 6 family.
Her parents are very affectionate and pampering towards her.
She grew up with very loving siblings too. Because of that she love the little ones the way she was loved.

Hope was an abandoned cat from Chinatown and was very skinny and stressed when she arrived.

Bean Bean noticed it and would spend time with Hope. Sometimes , she would just sit next to hope to assure her. Over time, Hope bloomed into a very loving sweet girl. Her favorite big sister is Bean Bean and they often snuggled. Sometimes Hope would hold onto to Bean Bean. Or she would groom her non stop.

It is always nice to see them bloom into happy carefree cats.

Very happy Puffy's eye is healing well.
By this time, we are sure that her eye condition is due to virus flare up.
She is on anti virus medication and we spray eye drop to prevent infection.

We have shared Puffy's case with the Commissioner of Charity to help them understand our work.

In Jan 2026 when we rescued Puffy, she went to the eye specialist and had alot of test. We set up a Giveasia for her vet fees. Once her condition stabilizes, we close the campaign.

Any new vet fees incurred are paid by us.
In May and July, her eye flared up. As she does not allow anyone to touch her, the vet has to sedate her. The bottle of eye drop can last a week or two but she uses up one bottle every 2 to 3 days because we have to spray at her eye from a distance.
All these increases the vet and medical costs.

The Jun bill was $638.73 and the July bill was $526.81 both paid by us.

We have 2 vet bills with Giveasia. If you can help we will be grateful.
Again these are vet bills only. Transport, food, supplements etc all paid by us and not part of giveasia.

This is Smize’s photo for the Commissioner of Charities.

Someone reported us to the Commissioner of Charities, alleging that Smize’s GiveAsia donations had been misused. There were also allegations that Smize had died, so we decided to submit proof that she is alive to the Commissioner.

Smize’s fundraising is very straightforward. The donations are held by GiveAsia and can only be used for veterinary expenses. Veterinary invoices are submitted to GiveAsia and, once approved, payment is made directly to the veterinary clinic.

The Commissioner was also interested in who was paying for Smize’s non-veterinary expenses. We submitted a list of costs, including transport, food, supplements and medical supplies, all of which are paid for by us. As Smize is cared for in our home, there are no boarding or manpower costs.

To date, we have rescued or adopted 201 animals for lifelong care, and this is the first time a complaint has been made against us to the Commissioner of Charities.

As our fundraising records are straightforward, we were able to provide all the requested information promptly and transparently. We fully cooperated throughout the inquiry and submitted all the requested documents and information. The Commissioner also appreciated the additional background we provided regarding the public allegations and online attention surrounding Smize’s rescue, including comments and allegations made by individuals who had never met or cared for Smize.

Meanwhile, Smize’s thyroid levels are now under control, and she has been gaining weight. She is also becoming more active and remains very affectionate. She is especially food-motivated whenever her papa praises her while she eats.

Smize is a senior FIV-positive cat living with thyroid disease and heart disease, and she deserves the safety and comfort of a loving home. She is grateful to the people who first shared her situation and called for help, to the person who brought her off the streets and entrusted her to our care, and to everyone who has supported her journey and wished her well.

Giant is a very big black cat but he has the sweetest, gentle and kitten like meow.
He lived in Chinatown and one day, his feeder noticed a big wound on his leg and he was limping. He was brought to the vet for treatment and they felt it was snot safe for him to be on the street. S he came to us! He is now a very happy, carefree, cool and popular cat. Everyone loves to play with him.

This is the very cute Mr. Bubbles.
When his feeder found him unwell, they rushed him to the vet.
He was hospitalized for a while and also found to be FeLV+.
They asked if he cam come to Rahula Felv Sanctuary and we said yes.
He was stil rather skinny when we fetch him. Given that he was very sick, it is hard to tell what might happen. No point worrying, just give him the love and support.
His personality is like his name. Very bubbly and welcoming.
That made him very popular with his siblings.
And over the last 2 years, he also gain much weight and his health improved.
That is a great achievement for a FeLV cat and we are very proud of him.
And also thankful to the feeder who refuse to give up pn him when he is sick and contact us to welcome him to the sanctuary.

Puffy's eye is getting better each day with the antivirus medication and antibiotic eye drop.
We have always updated the status of our rescue because many people love to see how the cats settle down after rescue.
But sadly, the dangerous side of this is, the information we posted has been download and given a different twist with malicious intend.
Actually rescue work is very simple. We see a cat who needs help, we get our hands dirty and do what it takes to help them.
Problem comes when people have a different idea and gets upset when things dont go their way. and the weaponize the inf we post against us.

Clarification on Community Cat Microchipping and Ownership

On 20 June 2026, JJ Chong published a Facebook post alleging that we had acted unlawfully when we rescued Smize and Bobby for medical treatment because they were microchipped under the feeders' names. The post was subsequently shared by veteran cat rescuer Susan Lee, who has since removed her post. Copies of these posts have been retained.

As these allegations concerned the law and had the potential to mislead members of the public and the animal welfare community, we sought clarification directly from the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS).

On 20 July 2026, AVS confirmed:

"The act of microchipping and registering a cat with the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) does not automatically confer ownership of the community cat on the person whose details are registered on the microchip, or the person who has registered the said cats with AVS."

Smize and Bobby were both visibly ill, and concerned members of the public sought our assistance to ensure they received urgent veterinary attention.

Following veterinary examinations:

Smize was diagnosed as FIV+ with hyperthyroidism and heart disease. She required lifelong medication and ongoing veterinary care. Her hyperthyroidism and heart disease were only diagnosed after she was rescued and examined by a veterinarian.

Bobby was diagnosed as FIV+ with multiple untreated wounds. Several of the wounds had extended into the muscle. Laboratory testing identified Acinetobacter variabilis in the wounds, and he required surgery and medical treatment. This was the second time Bobby had developed multiple sores over his body.

We responded to the members of the public's request for help because our priority was, and remains, to ensure that sick animals receive the veterinary care they need.

We are sharing AVS's clarification so that rescuers, caregivers and members of the public have accurate information regarding community cat microchip registration and ownership.

We also take this opportunity to thank the members of the public who alerted us to Smize's and Bobby's conditions. Although they were neither the feeders nor caregivers of these cats, they recognised that the cats required urgent veterinary attention and reached out to us for assistance. Their compassion and timely action enabled both Smize and Bobby to receive prompt veterinary care before their conditions deteriorated further.

Our commitment has always been the welfare of animals, especially those who are sick, injured or require specialised care. We rescue them into our own care, where they are personally looked after and receive the medical treatment, love and dignity they deserve. Like many rescuers, we know that seeing a severely ill animal recover, regain its health and enjoy life again is one of the greatest rewards of animal rescue. It is this joy that keeps us, and many other rescuers, going despite the many hurdles we face.

At that time, Baby Gus was still FeLV+ and we were waiting to retest.
But being a kitten, we do not want him to be alone so we spend alot of time with him. We also took him to see Molly our Singapore Special at the time.
We also let him express his artistic skills. We paint was added to the canvas and covered by a layer of plastic and towel.
Baby Gus would hop, run and play above it to produce his art work.
Our dear boy is gone but he leave behind many memories like this.
