Heartbroken to share that Thunder, my beloved dog, has passed. On Saturday morning, 14 Dec, Thunder had a sudden seizure. He has no history of having a seizure prior to this. After a second seizure at 12PM, we rushed him to VES, where he was treated for overheating and given oxygen as his breathing was severely compromised.
He was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis, worsened by the seizures. By evening, he seemed stable, conscious, and even opened his eyes. I thought heโd pull through.
Sunday brought new challengesโhe became oxygen-dependent, and by night, the vet suspected brain complications or a coma. Despite efforts to stabilize him, his condition worsened. At midnight, we had to face the hardest decision.
Family and friends came to see him, and we decided to give him one more day to fight, hoping for a miracle, but by early morning, his body gave out, and he peacefully stopped breathing.
Thunder, in his own way, chose not to burden us with the decision. He gave us the chance to be with him and say our goodbyes before he peacefully left us. Thunder, youโll always be in our hearts. ๐
