Dear Friends,

We have just received an official circular from AVA that there has been an increase in canine leptospirosis cases in Singapore. Specifically, there has been 4 reported cases of fatal acute canine leptospirosis from April to date. All owners had reported increased rodent activity in their estates.

LEPTOSPIROSIS is a potentially fatal bacterial infection that caused severe liver and/or kidney failure. It is also contagious to humans.

SYMPTOMS include fever, lethargy, appetite loss, vomiting, increased thirst, increased urination and jaundice.

In Singapore, the most common sources of infection are rats and their excrement.

Here are some easy-to-remember tips to help you to keep your pets safe during this time!

Update: Thanks to the kind support of our donors, the target of 9 sets has been met!

Feeding a hundred dogs at the shelter is not easy, especially as we try our best to provide them the nutrients they need to stay healthy.

Paw Mart has secured another 1-for-1 promotion for us. There are 9 sets of AvoDerm Oven-Baked Lamb & Brown Rice kibbles available for donation to OSCAS, with each set going for $70.
