ngapore has a severe problem with suffering street cats. An estimated 50’000 either feral (born wild) or strays (abandoned cats) are currently living on the streets. LUNI Singapore works with 4 pillars to help street cats:

LUNI Singapore steps in to help by carrying out TNR efforts (Trap, Neuter and Return) as one of the main pillars. Secondly we rescue, socialise, foster and rehome street kittens and abandoned cats. As we don't have a shelter and work purely with foster families, we can only focus on rehoming kittens and cats that can easily adapt into family life. We ensure that our fosterers can provide a loving family environment to each kitten and cat they care for in order to facilitate a transition from life on the streets to a home environment. Feral cats that have lived their whole life on the streets are often happier if they can stay in their known environment (after TNR) and get the loving care of their feeders. We also consider the human aspect as the often elderly feeders treat the street cats as their own and do get a lot of joy from this interaction - giving them a meaningful purpose late in life. We currently support a dozen feeders all over Singapore with monthly food donations to responsibly feed street cats. Additionally, we help them with TNR as well as medical care if needed. Our most important resource: local x global community UNITED 🐱❤️

Our team consists of locals and a few expats from all around the world. Together we help as many cats as possible in Singapore 🇸🇬😻

One big problem contributing to the situation are the countless backyard breeders who are making money with so-called pedigree or mixed cats they breed without license, professional knowledge and without caring for the welfare of the cats. They then sell them, for example on Facebook or Gumtree, under “kittens with adoption fees” or "in exchange for cat food" because actual selling without a license is prohibited. The biggest impact to stop these sellers can be achieved by not supporting such cruel businesses and educating other people about it. Further, some people adopting or buying kittens (from breeders or shelters) fail to sterilize them, sometimes let them roam freely and they multiply on the streets or in their homes, contributing to the growing unwanted cat population. Once the kittens are too old or not cute, they may simply discard them on the street.

💛 Money Penny – Looking for Her Superstar Adopter

Money Penny was found in Jurong West when she was just 5 weeks old — tiny, vulnerable, and far too young to be surviving on her own. From the moment she was rescued, she has only ever been full of light ✨ She grew into a happy, active, social, and incredibly affectionate kitten who loves both humans and other cats. She runs to greet you, plays with endless energy, and curls up sweetly next to you when she’s tired. She truly has the most joyful spirit.

During a routine vet check, however, a loud heart murmur was detected. After further investigations at VES, she was diagnosed with a Large Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), which means she was born with a hole in her heart.

At the moment, Money Penny is not showing any signs of heart failure. She is extremely active, eating well, and behaving just like any other normal, playful kitten 🐾 You would not know anything was wrong just by watching her. However, based on her condition, the cardiologist at VES has estimated that she may have approximately 3–5 years.

This is why we are searching for a truly special adopter for her — someone with a big heart for a little girl who was born with a fragile one ❤️ We are hoping to find a committed, loving home that will cherish her for however long she has, and give her a life filled with warmth, comfort, and security.

Money Penny is approximately 4 months old. She has been vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, de-flead, and tested negative for FIV/FELV.

She must go to a home with another resident cat for companionship, or she can be paired with another of our foster kittens currently staying with her fosterer 🐱🐱

She deserves a home where she will be loved not in spite of her diagnosis, but completely and wholeheartedly. If you are ready to open your heart to a very special kitten and give her the beautiful life she deserves, please reach out to us.

Today is the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year! 🧧✨
Here are some tips ft. Leia on how to keep your cat safe this CNY:

1️⃣ Create a Safe Space
Make sure your kitty has a quiet, safe space to retreat to if they’re uncomfortable with the bustle of the crowd. A separate room with their litter box, water, and favourite bedding helps them feel secure.

2️⃣ Be Mindful of Festive Plants
Know the plants you’re bringing into your home and ensure they are cat-safe before doing so. Some common toxic plants during CNY include:
• Lilies (extremely dangerous to cats)
• Lucky bamboo
• Chrysanthemums
• Tulips
• Azaleas

3️⃣ Watch the Festive Goodies
New Year snacks may smell tempting, and there’s bound to be crumbs on the floor. Make sure your cat doesn’t ingest food containing onion, garlic, alcohol, chocolate, or bones. Avoid feeding any New Year snacks altogether — their tummy will thank you!

𝑼𝑷 𝑭𝑶𝑹 𝑨𝑫𝑶𝑷𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵: Meet Miya – The Certified Lap Cat ❤️

If you’ve ever wished for a cat who stays by your side, warms your lap, and politely complains whenever you try to get up… Miya is your girl. This sweetheart lives for affection — cuddles, head rubs, chest scritches, all accepted and appreciated. She’s the definition of a Velcro kitty.

Miya has spent many years outdoors before she was found with a deep abscess wound. With proper vet care, she made a full recovery and is now healthy and ready for her forever home.

Because of her past, she needs an adopter who’s patient and willing to give her time to settle into indoor life. Once she feels safe, she gives her whole heart — and she gives it freely. She also does best in a single-cat household free of any other cats.

8.5 year old Miya has been adored by her community feeder, loved by her foster, and charmed every vet she’s ever met. She’s ready for her next chapter — one where she finally has a human to call her own.
