A microchip is like your pet's identity number. It allows your furry friend to be traced back to you if they ever get lost 🌍 In Singapore, all pet dogs must be microchipped and licensed with Animal and Veterinary Services (AVS).

📢 For Cat Parents!
Starting 1st September 2024, all pet cats in Singapore must be microchipped, and licensed with AVS as well.

Microchipping is done via a simple injection. Its quick and easy and the microchip is no larger than a grain of rice.

🐕 For Puppies:

🐾 To support your puppy or kitten’s growth, choose high-quality food from trusted brands like Hill’s Science Diet, Royal Canin, Purina Pro Plan, or Iams. Don’t forget fresh water at all times! 💧

🐕 Small breed puppies should stay on puppy food until 12 months, while large breeds can continue until 15-18 months. If feeding wet food, discard leftovers after 1 hour.

🐱 For kittens, feed them high-quality food from the same trusted brands and follow the same rule for wet food leftovers.

🐾 Switching food? Do it gradually over the course of a week to help your pet adjust.

Did you know that intestinal worms can be passed from mother to puppy or kitten at birth? 😱

Regular deworming with oral dewormers (ie Drontal/ Praziquantel) is essential to protect your new pup from intestinal parasites.

✅ Intestinal Deworming schedule:
• Every 2 weeks until 3 months
• Monthly from 3 to 6 months
• Every 3 months after 6 months

Plus for puppies, don’t forget about monthly Heartworm prevention!

There has been an increase in leptospirosis cases, a bacterial infection spread by rodents, prevalent in both urban and rural settings. This disease can be contracted through contact with contaminated water or soil and is transmissible to both dogs and humans.

Preventative Actions:

1. Timely Vaccination: Ensure vaccinations are up-to-date and administered on schedule to significantly reduce the risk of infection and disease severity. Both the VANGUARD® 5L4 and the RECOMBITEK® 4 vaccines that we carry are designed to help protect your dog against this infection. This is especially crucial for dogs that frequently explore outdoor environments.

2. Minimize Exposure: After recent heavy rains, ensure your dog avoids stagnant water and muddy areas where rodents may be present.

3. Safe Handling Practices:
o Use protective gloves when handling or cleaning after a pet diagnosed with leptospirosis.
o Wash hands thoroughly with soap after any contact with your pet or contaminated areas.
o Disinfect potentially contaminated surfaces with antibacterial solutions or bleach.

Monitor Your Pet: Watch for symptoms such as lethargy, vomiting, or fever, and contact us promptly for any concerns.
