🐾🐾 WE'RE PUTTING OUR FEET FIRMLY ON THE GROUND! 🐾🐾

We're almost reaching the second half of the month. My apologies for the irregular updates due to the hectic June school holiday period, working on a project in JB, negotiating with the landlord, endless admin work, and the list goes on. But we're not complaining, because life will be boring without all these 🤪

There are some updates and changes along the way, and we always believe changes are to improve, not to worsen the situation.

🐈 Update #1: Our rental agreement to Vira's Catcave is ending soon. We are grateful to have such a nice and wonderful landlord; the one that doesn't bother us nor keep things difficult for us (we do heard stories of how landlords keep changing rules, etc, to tenants). As a normal business thing, extending the rental contract will ultimately lead to an increase in rental. After much calculation, discussion, and considering all other factors, we have decided to continue for another 2 years – for the cats and you! However, to absorb the increase in rental while continuing to take in more rescued cases, Vira's Shelter will need to bear a portion of the rental, $600 per month, with effect from the month of June 2026 onwards.

🐈‍⬛ Update #2: Vira's Shelter is an independent, non-profit entity that deals only for rescued cats. Again, we would like to remind you that we are not linked to any welfare group such as SPCA, CWS or any other big names organisation. Vira's Shelter expenses will now comprise 3 things: cat supplies (mainly from Pet HQ), vet bills, and rental. Fundings to cover such expenses will come from services we provide (wall mural drawings, sales of 10-sessions Cat Sitting Package and $100 Credits), sales of products and items, adoption fees and contributions. We will continuously keep Vira's Shelter finances transparent, so please bear with our regular "financial reporting" on our FB page.

🐈 Update #3: Our daily viewing slots will remain the same between 6pm to 10pm. Only Bad will be the one conducting the viewing. Unfortunately, as Bad is super busy lately due to the peak period (June school holiday period), we will only resume our viewing slots of our rescued cats from 29 June onwards. We apologize for any inconvenience caused 🙏🙏

🐈‍⬛ Update #4: We have received a handful of donations of cats' items from kind donors. We will use it for our Vira's CatCave and Vira's Shelter or resell these items at affordable prices to raise funds for Vira's Shelter. So, if you do have rarely used but in good condition or new cat items that you need to declutter, feel free to approach us!
