Clarification Regarding Your Recent Posts About Marshmallow’s Grooming

Dear Marshmallow owner,
We are writing to address the recent video clips you posted online regarding Marshmallow’s grooming session at our facility. We are deeply concerned that the footage you shared presents a misleading narrative by omitting the condition in which Marshmallow arrived, extremely matted and underweight. These factors required a careful and, at times, uncomfortable grooming process for the cat’s own health and safety.

We understand how distressing it can be to see your pet in discomfort, but we must emphasize that Marshmallow’s state was the result of prolonged neglect, not grooming mishandling. You were there watching the whole session but why you didn’t intervene when you felt it was already rough and the groomers were abusive?As professionals, our priority is always the animal’s welfare, even when that means making tough decisions to resolve severe matting that could lead to infections or worse.

Unfortunately, your posts have caused significant reputational damage to our business. We are now facing daily online harassment and false accusations from people who do not have the full context. We believe in transparency and accountability, but we also believe that fairness goes both ways.

We kindly request that you take steps to clarify the full situation publicly, including acknowledging Marshmallow’s condition prior to grooming. This would go a long way in correcting the narrative and preventing further harm to a small business dedicated to animal care. Failure to do so will prompt us to lodge a proper complaint to authorities and let them handle this matter.

We want to take a moment to thank one of our thoughtful clients who shared a perfect perspective on “ MARSHMALLOW’s “ viral video that’s been circulating.💜

What may appear as “rough handling” was actually a very careful and professional effort to help a severely matted, underweight cat with extremely loose skin conditions that made grooming not only challenging but necessary for the cat’s health and comfort. The cat was understandably stressed and struggling, but we took every precaution to avoid injury while working through the dense mats that were causing pain and restricting movement.

We understand how hard it can be to watch such moments out of context. But those who know the grooming world and the effort it takes to care for neglected or high-needs animals understand that sometimes, the work doesn’t look gentle, but it is deeply compassionate and skilled.

Out of Love, Not Fear: The Story Behind Furies Inc.

We are Furies Inc., a small but passionate cat grooming business built from the heart by me, a Filipino veterinarian, and my husband, a Singaporean engineer. What started as a dream turned into a mission: to give neglected, misunderstood, and even “untouchable” cats the care they deserve.

Many of the cats we work with are labeled “too fierce,” “too aggressive,” or “impossible to groom.” But we don’t believe in giving up on them or sedating them, unless absolutely necessary then we refer them to our trusted licensed veterinarians in Singapore. . Sedation carries risks, and we’ve seen too many cases where it could have been avoided with patience, skill, and compassion.

Recently, a video went viral claiming that one of our groomers abused a difficult cat. Let us be clear: there was no abuse. What people saw was firm and safe handling techniques developed to protect both the cat and the groomers. It’s easy to judge from a screen. It’s harder to understand the years of experience, training, and care that go into handling animals who’ve never known kindness or trust.

My husband, the calm and gentle soul behind Furies Inc., has always been the backbone of our operations. But due to his heart condition, he’s asked me to step forward now. And I will because I’m not one to back down when I know the truth is on our side. I’m a vet, a fighter, and a lifelong advocate for animals who can’t speak for themselves.

To our clients and supporters who’ve stood by us, THANK YOU! Your trust gives us strength.

And to those spreading misinformation: we see your words, but we stand by our work, our ethics, and our love for every cat that walks through our door, no matter how “fierce” they may seem.

Regarding the Circulating Cat Grooming Video

We’re aware of a video circulating online that shows a cat being groomed and held firmly by our professional groomers. The original poster has claimed this is abuse. We want to clarify: this is not abuse.

The cat in the video appears to be extremely reactive and potentially aggressive—something not uncommon during grooming sessions. For the safety of both the animal and the groomers, firm restraint is often necessary. This is a standard and humane practice among trained professionals when dealing with difficult or fearful animals.

While it may look intense, it’s important to understand the difference between abuse and safe handling. There is no evidence in the video of harm, neglect, or mistreatment—only a team working to manage a tough situation safely.

Please avoid jumping to conclusions without full context. Let’s support both responsible pet care and the professionals who handle these challenging situations with care and skill.

The video is not what it looks like to be.

1. The groomer is merely holding on to the cat's paw, and moving with the cat's kicking. She only grips firmly on the paw. There is no forceful movement from her at all. Kindly look again and observe that the movements are all from the cat's reactions of kicking about.

After the kicking, its only when the groomer will stretch back the leg to continue with the shaving

2. This video is 1 of the 3 videos we shared with the owner. Why would we share this grooming video with the owner, if we are hurting the cat. We shared because we have nothing to hide and of course the owner has the right to see the video of her cat being groomed

3. The cat reacted to the grooming as the matted fur is being shaved off. The cat has badly matted fur all over her body. Underneath the badly matted fur are rashes that caused from the cat's licking, to ease the itching

4. The cat's natural reaction to the shaving is very physical as it can be very uncomfortable or painful during the removal of the badly matted fur

5. Marshmallow shaving takes much longer time than the others, as the badly matted fur is all over the body.

Marshmallow came with badly matted fur and rashes underneath her fur.
Tedious and careful work needed to groom, clean and care for Marshmallow is also in malnourished conditions and looks skinny.

We shared and advised owner on these conditions earlier.

We ourselves own cats and do not condone any abuse or hurting pets in any way whatsoever.

Kindly be fair to us and hear our side of the story, as we did as best we can to groom Marshmallow in such a conditions
