"[The test was] probably better than expected, but I know that he has got very good work in him. He's been ridden and produced the last couple of years by the best event rider in the world, Pippa Funnell, and he is beautifully schooled. She has an amazing ability of the horses never having a bad experience in a main arena. So as much as his weakness would be that he's still a little bit weak in his frame and his physique, and also he gets very excited with atmosphere… I knew it's all in there. [But] it takes so much brain work. The three days of being here, it is a massive part of it and every moment you're on the horse. I don't chat to my mates. I'd never get my phone out my pocket, you know, nothing like that. You have to stay with his brain the whole time. He's incredibly sensitive. I was just so delighted that he was as happy and as rideable as he was. There's definitely a couple of little things, rider errors, [in the test]—I think I did six strides of rein back. But not a moment I thought, oh, God, that's bad. And so, yeah, I don't want another go anyway. I will take that."
