Transparency has always been one of our core values at WildChow.
As research around microplastics and food contact materials continue to grow, we wanted to share more openly about one of the biggest decisions we made early on as founders: how we cook your pet’s meals.
After extensive research and countless internal discussions, we ultimately chose to prepare our meals using stainless steel cooking vessels instead of heating food in plastic pouches.
While we don’t claim to have all the answers, we wanted to take the more conservative route wherever reasonably possible when it comes to long term daily feeding.
This cooking method is slower, more labour intensive, and significantly more costly operationally. But for us, it aligned with the standards we wanted for our own furkids.
