🙅♀️no to unnecessary shaving! Just because you can shave a cat, doesn’t mean you should. 🐈✂️
One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that shaving a cat will keep them cooler. In reality, a cat’s coat does much more than just make them look fluffy.
Their coat helps:
• Regulate body temperature.
• Protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
• Reduce the risk of cuts, scrapes and insect bites.
• Support the natural health of the skin and coat.
Shaving a healthy cat purely for convenience or aesthetics may do more harm than good.
That said, there are times when shaving is necessary, such as severe matting, hygiene concerns, certain medical conditions, or when advised by your veterinarian. In these cases, your cat’s comfort and welfare always come first.
At Tobias Kibbles, we don’t believe in shaving every cat that walks through our doors. We assess each cat individually and recommend what is genuinely best for their health and well-being.
Because great grooming isn’t about removing fur. It’s about understanding the cat beneath it. 💜
