Welcome Giselle to our Puppy Foundations Programme! 🥰

Our first consultation covered key topics like potty training, setting up a daily routine (including enrichment), building engagement with her handlers, cooperative harness wearing, creating positive associations with handling, and preventing resource guarding. Building a strong foundation from the start is so important!

Happy to be part of this pup’s growing journey ☺️

This is Lyra, a 2.5-month-old GR pup. His parents reached out as he had been nipping at his little human brothers, which made them a bit scared of him.

Just like human babies can have a “witching hour” where they become more fussy, it's normal for puppies to also have periods in the day when they’re noticeably more mouthy. Puppy mouthing isn’t a bad thing—it’s actually an important developmental phase where they learn bite inhibition, or how much pressure is appropriate when interacting or playing with others.

To manage the mouthing and nipping, we want to:
• ensure the puppy is getting sufficient sleep (overtired puppies tend to get more bitey),
• provide sufficient enrichment,
• offer outlets such as chews for teething pups, and
• calmly redirect when the mouthing becomes too much.

Swipe to see him in his shark mode! 🦈

So nice to see Princess settling well into her new home! ❤️

Princess is displaying reactivity towards other dogs — i.e. she may bark or lunge when she sees them. Reactivity is often misunderstood as aggression, but it can stem from emotions like fear, frustration, or over-arousal.

We’re guiding her owners on how to manage and work through this using a combination of environmental management, leash handling skills, desensitisation and counterconditioning, and building engagement with her owners. With the right guidance and consistency, many reactive dogs can learn to feel more comfortable and respond more calmly around other dogs. 🐾

Met Lily today, a 9-year-old SS, who is just one week into her new home. She enjoys her walks, and walks well on leash without pulling. Once she is home though, she tends to hide in her room and does not feel comfortable to eat unless there's no one around.

During this initial phase of rehoming, doing less is more. We guided her owner to give her space and keep things low key, to give her the time she needs to decompress. To encourage her to explore and build a positive association with her new home, we also planted some treats around the house to let her do a treasure hunt.

Happy to receive the update from her owner that Lily shortly ventured out into the living room and took the treats! 🥳

Welcome Zera to our ADORE training programme! 🐶

Zera is a 1-year-old SS who can be a little sensitive to her environment and pulls a little on the leash, especially when she sees other dogs. We'll be working on loose leash walking, building engagement with her owners, as well as confidence-building to prevent reactivity.

Doesn't she look a little like a black version of my own ? 😍

Meet Huat Kueh, who is on our Puppy Foundations Programme! 😍

He also has a 2.5-year-old hooman sister, so we’re guiding his parents on how to help them interact in a safe, positive, and respectful way as they grow up together. 💛

P.S. Doesn't he have the cutest name?!

Buffy is a JB Special who tends to be a little hyper-vigilant and skittish, especially around triggers like children and scooters — which can show up as pulling on the leash.

Today we began building a clearer communication system together with , and we’ll be focusing on loose leash skills and confidence-building games to help her feel safer in her environment.

And here’s Buffy absolutely shagged out after our first training session. 🤣

Whampoa Happy Pets Day on 31 Jan 2026.

Honoured to be invited by Kallang CC to speak at this event today. Coincidentally, this is also my hood, so was happy to see some familiar faces .ss .thesniffer, not forgetting our very friendly MP .sg. 😁

We shared on the topic of dog reactivity, including our personal experience, what we've learnt, and some quick tips. Looking forward to the next event! 🙌
