UPDATE ON MEI MEI - SHE IS DOING WELL

Mei Mei has weaned off steroids, and we feel she has improved. Her right eye is larger, and pupil less pr*****ed. She is also eating well, she can finish 1 and 1/2 can of wet food and a bowl of kibbles per day.

We will be arranging for her dental soon - her dental work was supposed to be done last month but she fell ill affecting her nerves around her right cranial area (ear, eye, head tilt, mouth).

To support her medical fees, you can contribute any amount to posb savings 278-154-645 or paynow 9182 3184.

Appeal for medical funds - Mei Mei is back in hospital

Latest - we discharged Mei Mei so that we are not charged $250 per day over the public holidays.

Our community cat, Mei Mei was supposed to get her dental done this week bit she again became very lethargic and stopped eating for 2 days despite the variety of foods and coaxing from her feeders.

We sent her back to the clinic for further tests. All x rays and blood tests are normal except issues of inflammation. Her right cranial face displayed more distortion e.g right eye is pr*****ed and smaller, her right jaw can'tfully open for her to grab food so she only licks up gravy. Her head tilts prminently to her right too.

Initally, we thought of inner ear infection but this has been eliminated. The Vet suspects there are damaged nerves but to to find out more requires MRI and even if MRI scan can show where her nerve problem is, it may or may not be surgically treated, and by a specialist.

Mei Mei is one of our oldest cats. She's 14 years old and we are afraid she will not be able to survive any long micro surgery.

Its been close to a week warded at Vet Medic. Shes recently undergoing steroids therapy to bring her inflammation down. As of today, she's eating soft (those with gravy, smaller meat pieces or pate). Her right head tilt is still prominent as well as her smaller, pr*****ed right eye.

We will wait a couple of days more to see if the steroids at a higher dose will help her. If not, we are preparing to have Mei Mei fostered / moved indoors.

We need more help with her bills. We are really struggling to keep our Sanctuary open.

Todate, her bills are close to $2,000.

Please help Mei Mei. To donate, Paynow 9182 3184 or use POSB SAVINGS 278-15464-5. Please indicate "MEI" in your transaction🙏

One of our oldest community cat, Mei Mei has reduced appetite and today her main feeder was very worried as Mei appeared lethargic and lost interest in eating. We sent her to the vet. As Mei has no vet record, the clinic had to establish a baseline so we did full blood test, xray diagnosis and check on her ears and teeth.

Blood test was largely normal with only inflammation present, no tumours were see on xrays but her teeth were in bad shape with many in state of decay.

As the vet was closing soon, we opted for antibiotics by injection and pain relief. We will schedule her dental surgery and extractions next week.

Mei Mei's bill for today is $671.31. We truly hope we can recover this amount as it affects many other expenses that we have to pay for. If you can contribute to her bill, please paynow 9182 3184.

Any amount is deeply appreciated. Thank you

Some were looking glum today. The aircon units were faulty again and not blowing cold air. This after spending a fortune $600 to change the PCB board to the compressor last month. These old units passed down from previous tenant and we've been servicing every four months for the cat's comfort but I guess the aircon is as tired as I am - breaking down often.

Duchess is at the vet now to undergo her rectification surgery to allow urine to pass through bladder normally. Her surgery is being done by a visiting vet from overseas. We pray for a good outcome.

We placed $1,500 deposit with the clinic which is what we managed to get from kind donors.
See appeal here https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16yTDjJ8Ze/

Her final bill will be ready upon discharge and Dr Chow says he will see what he can do to assist with lesser charges.

Dr Chow has also kindly allowed for a repayment plan but we also hope to be able to keep to it, seeing that even our daily targets fell short.

Our bank balance is $20 after transportation costs.

Please help with her medical fund. We still have Toffee hospitalised to stabilise her kidney readings and her infection.

PLEASE HELP.

Funds received:

15 Feb - $50

13 Feb - we have the deposit amount $1,000 from Anonymous. Please contribute to Toffee medical fund if you can, as her est. bill will be closer to $2.5k.

Toffee has been hospitalised to stabilise her kidney failure. She is currently on IV fluids, pain relief, and close monitoring.

Over the 2 days, Toffee has been vomiting multiple times a day and stopped eating on Thursday. We rushed her to the vet yesterday, where tests revealed dangerously high potassium levels. Because Toffee is FIV-positive, she is also suffering from severe stomatitis, making it painful for her to eat. Her mouth is badly infected and requires treatment.

She is currently being treated with antibiotics, IV fluids, and medication to lower her potassium levels. The clinic has requested a $1,000 deposit to begin treatment.

We are struggling to cope — emotionally, mentally, and financially — and this situation is pushing us to our limits of depression.

Still, we want to give Toffee every chance to recover and live without pain.

Can you help support Toffee’s medical care?
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her treatment and recovery.

MORE ON DUCHESS. WE ARE STILL APPEALING FOR FUNDS

[We tried posting these up but the platform algorithm keeps flagging as a breach comm standards and the page doesnt get shared]

This is how Duchess suffers every couple of months. Due to her urine incontinence, she's always wet. Washed twice a day, on e-collar 24/7 stresses her.

She had three UTI relapses and wearing diapers only makes her rash appear even more often. Even with wash and barrier creams and antiseptic lotions she will still develop crust and scalding. There's no way to prevent her from rubbing against the litter box either and some days she can get out of tight e-collars and will start to lick the sensitive parts for hours because she's very uncomfortable, in pain and irritable with her leaking urine.

She's been shaved bald three times as well so that her long fur doesnt get in the way of her sticky bits and escalating the infection to her an** and va*****.

We are seeking help for Duchess. Her appeal post is here but funds collected is dismal.
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16v9vqhLkP/
We had no choice but to plead for an instalment plan with the clinic, although how many instalments was not discussed. We really are grateful to Dr Chow and his team for their willingness to help Duchess and fix her congenital problem.

Dr Chow had to personally coordinate with a visiting surgeon who's done this type of microsurgery and also contacted a human hospital to loan special surgical equipment. Hence, the surgery to save Duchess will go on as planned on 14 February, that is our goal.
