And one more important thing I need to write about :)
🤡Shipping companies / problem with couriers etc.
What do we do when the couriers/shipping companies fails?
When we ship your parcels and pay for them (we always try to find the most affordable shipping option for you), please remember that you also have the right to choose a different option — one that is express, insured, or otherwise more secure. When I search for the cheapest possible shipping method for you, it usually means a standard shipment with minimal or no insurance.
I want to make it very clear - we cannot take responsibility for how shipping companies operate —
for delays, missing scans, parcels being held at transit points, or for situations where the courier picks up a package but doesn’t scan it, leaving it “in the cloud” until it eventually gets scanned and appears in the tracking system.
We send a large number of parcels. Some are picked up by couriers directly from us (this is a story of its own — I could honestly write a book about it), and some we drop off at a local point where the courier picks them up later. If at any point a parcel doesn’t get scanned, I have no way of knowing where it is. I can’t track courier vans to check if they’re carrying our parcels. I do try to monitor where the parcels are, but honestly, no matter how hard I try, I simply cannot be held accountable for how poorly many courier companies operate.
I also have no control over lost parcels, over couriers throwing packages and damaging them, or whether a courier actually picks up the parcel from the drop-off point. Nor can I do anything when someone along the way miscalculates the weight and either returns the parcel or demands an absurd extra fee because someone, for example, wrongly converted kilograms to pounds.
🔸I also don’t check if your location is close to mine — and I definitely don’t spy on where you live! :) I usually don’t even look, as I handle too many parcels with addresses from all over the world.
But if you know I might be nearby and there's a chance I could deliver your parcel personally, just ask! If I know in advance and can plan for it, it probably won’t be a problem at all 🔸
When I purchase a shipping label, I’m hiring a courier service. I cannot take responsibility for whether or not the job is done properly. I have no control over a situation where a courier claims they tried to collect a package — while I’ve been outside in the garden the entire day :)
Due to recent issues with a courier company and a rather unpleasant situation, I want to inform you that from now on, I will be reducing my involvement in tracking parcels after they’ve left my hands. I will obviously check progress etc. but I cant follow evert parcel all the time :) That responsibility belongs to the shipping company, not to me. Just because someone on the helpline tells you that the package is in a certain place — based on the exact same tracking info I can see, which only shows the last scanned location — doesn’t mean the package is actually there. And taking your frustration out on me really won’t change that.
If the shipping company fails, I cannot take that responsibility onto myself, because it is entirely beyond my control. Unfortunately.
What we can do is:
✅Offer you the option to upgrade to express shipping or purchase additional insurance
✅Let you choose the courier company you prefer
✅Give you the option to buy the shipping label yourself, taking full responsibility for the shipping process
✅Ask for your patience, as unfortunately no one really has control over how courier companies work
Thank you for your understanding❤️
